  I have a hard modded xbox(chip:aladdin no idea what version,software: evox 2.5 slayer auto installer) that works fine but lately the dvd rom hasnt been able to read any disks, or im getn the dirty disc error screen. So i bought a new phillips drive and i placed it into my xbox. The led on the middle of my xbox flashes green and red and i get the error meessage saying that i should send my xbox to customer support in green. I'm guessing i have to back every thing up from my xbox hdd to my pc. Then re-install evox and then dump every thing back to my xbox hdd. Is that what I have to do, If you have any idea what I'm doing wrong or suggestions to help me plz reply. THX for reading.

  IDE cable connects motherboards to HD and CD/DVD Rom Drives....
  
  what error message are you getting jokaankit?? make sure the IDE Cable and DVD power cords are inserted right push all the wire/cords in very hard dont worry you wont break them....

  the IDE cable and the yellow cable are secure but is there a flash that i can use so I dont have to re-modd my xbox with evox. I had a thompson and swithched to a philips, and my Thomspon was in my xbox at the time I moddded it. The error number on the top left of the screen is 08. I'm sure all cabbles are connected properly. But does this have to do any thing to re flashing my xbox or do i have to back every thing up then load evox again.
  
  P.S. the IDE cable is the gray wire running through the dvd rom to the hdd right??

  yes them are the ide cables you should just be able to switch out DVD Drive no problem i do it all the time.....i dont know what the problem would be....

  yo could you help me out? i modded my xbox with xbmc and i was playing around with the mc360 skin and was adding a new theme to it, while i was ftp'ing it over i applied it by accident and now all that comes up is a black screen when i turn it on. i tried connecting to FTP but it givs me about 3 seconds of connection to the xbox harddrive at a time which allowes me to do NOTHING.

  i think i answered this in the thread but if you still have your softmod saves on the xbox your can put the game u softmodded with in and go to the SID 4.0 Screen,if you cant do that then i would suggest a hotswap....

  You are trying to burn with DVD Decrypter. After that you have pressed the OK button in the backup section of DVD Shrink it gives you the above error code.
  
  Solution:
  
  Another program is currently using the drive. You need to find out what it is and shut it down!
  
  The only way I know of finding out what else has a 'handle' open to the drive is by using Process Explorer. Load it up and click 'Find' -> 'Find Handle...'
  
  The type 'cdrom' and click 'search'
  
  See if it comes up with any results
  
  If it doesnt, try searching for the drive letter of that drive - i.e. 'F:'
  
  If it finds something, click on it in the search window. The main window should then highlight the process / 'File' entry that contains the handle to the drive. You can right click -> close the handle if you like, or just close the entire application, it's up to you.

  Killamanjoro=7 Straight kills within 5 secs of one another.....so 7x14=94 Kills which isnt right because there is only 50 kills in a team sniper game.......but after you get 7 kills and keep killing people within 5 seconds it just keeps saying killomanjaro so if he was modding he could have did that but not without modding...

  the thing is the flip tops dont work well, the full replacement cases work better....there isnt really a fix to it unless you find like a small clamp to hold it down tight...

  Heh, don't worry too much about being lost. I used to play PSO a lot on DC and Xbox and I know I'm going to have a bit of trouble transitioning to the new gameplay.

  you were helping me w/ linux boot discs. I still am having a prob. Cant seem to boot past first screen. I was thinking that maybe I should update my bios, maybe? I see you have a multitude of choices for bios's. If you have the time and could post a response that may help me in anyway it would be helpful. I know you get really busy resonding to the help requests around here.

  uhh ya my official ms xbox controller s does not work with hyperx bios. what did i do wrong? xbox is v.1.6 and i installed using lego method but i didnt have any legos so i used 2 ps2 memory cards and it worked. any help is greatly appreciated

  hey, im sorry to bother, but ive spent a couple days now reading through the entire XBOX 360 modding forums, and youve had tons of great posts. I was wondering if you could send me a link either through PM or email or AIM, of a guide of how to do it. All the useful posts ive seen have all been 2007, so i was wondering if you could give me any idea to which ones still fly.
