I wanted to send this to you personally as well as posting it because of your quick, curtious, and accurate response to my last question!

Hopefully you know the answer to this problem too:

Once I import the files and select the source and target drives it starts to burn and then I get an error stating:

"DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue.
    Programming error - exception occured
    The handle is invalid"

I also can't get one movie to go through the encryption process at all, there are no errors given when that happens, just nothingness, as if it's about to do it...you know, keeping you just curious enough to wait and see, watching it for an hour just to see if it starts....I can't help that I have nothing more pressing to do! :)

    Thanks again

    Your comments...

Have you received an answer to your post yet? If not then let me know what programs you have and if you are trying to shrink or burn. If you tell me the name of the movie I can help more. I will try to give you step by step instructions.

Good deal! How is it working for you?

  • tantrik (24 Jun 2006 16:53)

    hello
i have just recently backed up this movie using DVD shrink only. i backed up only tha main movie, without menu/extras. it played well on stand alone dvd player.

initially i tried using vob blanker, but then it wasn't playing due to some reason.

  • syxguns (26 Jun 2006 15:32)

VOBBlanker is a great program. However, some files may not be blanked in order for the movie to work properly. After running VobBlanker if you see anything in red at the end the movie will not play. Even if it says 0 errors, 0 warnings.

I am not sure what movie you are referring to. I post a lot of answers to questions. I have been backing up movies for a long time, but recently the movies seem to be a little harder. Especially Sony, they are hard to crack. Sony seems to make some real havoc on their DVD's.

Yo, syxguns! Thanks for the help re. the lost drive letters. It took me a while to get running again because of a harddisk crash and I lost all my data. The cool guys at a local computer shop were able to retrieve most of it. And to think we used to call these guysgeeks!
