  You will have to downgrade it mate, make sure that its not a TA-082 board or you will brick it.

  @ttoomm, Its possible that LCS will not work with the NO-UMD option, if you dont have a game UMD or video UMD, the demo UMD you got with your pack will work.

  reply to dearjj: If you really want to play homebrew games I suggest you just downgrade your psp to 1.5, then upgrade to custom firmware 3.03OE-C cause it can play homebrew games without needing you to do much stuff and you can customize your XMB too! Plus you'll get a Recovery menu which helps you to recover your psp back to version 1.5 when your psp is half-bricked or fully bricked (that's what most owners fear~)

  @ dearjj: The version 2.6 your referring to is the update thats on the UMD itself.
  If as you say you are 2.81 the only way would be to upgrade to 3.03, and use the GTALCS downgrader

  I am new to these firmware changes and stuff. I have recently updated my psp to firmware 3.03 OE B. I am not sure if it the one that was made by Dark Alex, but i have a hunch that it is. I used and easy downgrader.
  
  Well the thing is this: I am trying to enter the flash0 on my psp. (Because I want to see if i can modify the xmb on the psp), I already have the rco files like that ready. But they tell me to go to recovery mode and paste them in flash0, etc. Once in Recovery Mode. I Connect the PSP to the PC with the USB cable. Selected the advanced option, then i am supposed to select the USB flash0 option.
  
  But i do not see that on the recovery mode menu. When i go to advanced> i get:

  *Flash pspbtcnf_game.txt (3.03)
  *Flash pspbtcnf_updater.txt (3.03)

  I have like no idea what to do from there because I am afraid to brick it if i modify any of those flash files without having the proper knowledge in it.
  
  Now, I was doing a little wiki searching, and I managed to see that apparently flash0 cannot be accessed in firmwares 3.03, but I think it' talking about non OE firmwares, and that's where it just gets confusing. Here's the wiki link in case anyone wants to read it:

  @LoginLame, what is your current firmware?
  
  @Eoghann, you can access FLASH0 by turning your PSP off completely, then while holding the R trigger switch it back on, this brings you to Recovery mode.
  Your best bet would be to upgrade to 3.40 OE-A its available for download from my sig.

  oh but one thing...i already am in recovery mode, but like i specified in the previous post, i don't see anything about flash0. and if i go to windows explorer i am only able to see the inside of my memory card. no recovery folder, nothing that even comes close to flash0.
  
  and if i may ask, what benefits do i get with 3.40? because i was reading here that there is no way to actually enter the flash0 folder in the 3.40 OE. that's my fear, that upgrading might just make it worse. :(
  
  maybe i'll just keep the xmb like it was, untouched.
  
  why? because i have a friend and his psp is 3.40, and for some odd reason, he is not able to play some isos or .csos. they are very limited in number, but still, my firmware plays more isos than his 3.40.
  
  oh...and btw...they are japanese and spanish isos. i don;t think the language should be a barrier, but still, i figured it's worthy of mentioning.

  @Eoghann, with all OE firmwares comes a Recovery mode, and i think from 3.03OE-C comes an option which allows you to access the FLASH0 folder,
  So you will have to upgrade to a higher OE firmware in order to benefit from this.
  Alot depends on your settings when running ISO/CSO i personally have never had any trouble running my back ups.
  So all in all mate, upgrade to 3.40OE-A, its just as customizable as your current firmware, all be it done a different way, but thats where i,ll help you with as much information as i can. ;)

  i'm actually considering upgrading now, i had my doubts, but with your help i bet it will turn out just fine .sorry for sounding corny, i just gush out like that when people help me out like this. are the upgraders you have on your sig easy installers? it's not that i'm lazy, (maybe a little) it's just that i cherish my psp so much and i don;t want to mess it up. and the easy installers just do most of the hard work.
  
  oh...and btw....if i upgrade to 3.40 OE A, do you think i'll have any problems running the new Tomb Raider Anniversary that's coming out?? i can't wait for it, i swear i'll be the first in line to buy that! :P

  So I was thinking while I was browsing dark-alex.org; what would happen if i decided to download one of the custom OE firmwares he has available there, connect my friend's psp to the computer and try to install that firmware? Let's take for example...uhh...3.40 Open Edition Rev A. (it can be a lower firmware, in case 3.40 OE A is just asking for too much..)
  
  What will happen?
  
  1. Will it install it and actually work? (which i seriously doubt, because if it did, the answer to every 3.11+ psp owner's prayers would be answered)
  2. Will it say it cannot be installed?
  3. Will it install it as if it were just another SONY update and not let him run game backups?
  4. Will it brick the psp? .... Like any other experiment were people who do not know squat about firmwares decide to venture.
  
  I know....I ave to learn to make these messages shorter...a lot shorter...sorry.

  hey sudds, i was looking at this thread 'Help playing psx on psp 3.03 oe-c' and saw that you knew how to patch the prx files on a customized gameboot to get the ps1 emulator working again...can you please tell me how to do it?? i have a custom theme and now my ps1 eboots won't work!! thanks!

  hey buddy i got the following error while flashing the ixtreme 1.2 with the xtreme bootmaker a sam28 via sata: This afternoon I tried to flash my sam28 but I got this trouble
  and I tried many times with the same error what can i do?
  I check the pendrive and the size is the correct but in the flashing process it says error why?? do you hink is the same trouble you had? help me please

  If your firmware dump is not the correct size, Samtool will abort.
  
  
  
  
  This is an example of a partial dump. This is a firmware dump that was not completely dumped or became corrupted. Normally firmware dumps are 256KB, but if you have a file that is smaller, don't expect this firmware to work. If you ever encounter this, do not proceed and repeat the firmware reading process.
  
  If your firmware does not contain a valid key, Samtool will abort. Shown in the picture below.
  
  
  
  
  
  In this case the byte-sectors where the key is stored got corrupted, possibly due to a bad dump.
  
  If you get something like this picture, do not proceed!!! Doing so will brick your Xbox 360, and leave you without a valid drive key. Something is wrong. Make sure you have unplugged all other drives in your PC and re-start the reading of original firmware instructions.

  To flash a sam ms28 drive you need to use the 10 second trick, once it shows xtreme master turn off your 360, select the xtreme primary master count to 10 then switch the 360 back on.

  Yeah i got her flashed, Xtreme 5.3C, dont think i,ll bother goin to iXtreme 1.2b need my 360,s drive to back-up my games.
  Thats mainly why i havent been on in awhile, she,s still hooked up to my PC! lol.

  Hey Sudds. I saw on a thread that you seemed pretty knowledgeable in this area so I figured I'd see if you could help.
  
  I tried installing SVC 0.3 on my psp (running 3.40 OE) and when the install file finishes running, I go into the recovery menu on the psp and there's no plugins listed in the plugins menu...
  
  how do I enable the capture.prx if it's not listed??
  the files are in there i checked.

  @eyeinpalm, there is only a certain amount of plugins you can install and use, so it maybe that you have to many installed and its not showing up in the plugins menu.
