I'll Sue Ya!!

Just been reading up about this Wii thing with Nintendo and how some law firm in the US is getting ready for a Class Action Lawsuit. They claim that Nintendo is being neglegent in supplying Wii consoles (Or more specifically, the remotes) that apparently injure people.

Now I'm getting rather used to hearing about this sort of thing because we get it here in Blighty too. If it moves... Sue it seems to be the way now. It's putting hundreds of companies out of business because of the massive liability insurances that they are having to pay. Some insurers are even refusing to grant insurance to companies unless they can prove they have enough training in place (And this includes such risky tasks as using a Brush and Dustpan as I was informed when I recently started my new job).

My wife sensibly turned down an offer to make a claim from my motor insurers after my car was in an accident (She was the passenger and I was driving). Although only suffering from a couple of minor bruises, the insurers passed her details onto a soilicitor (Because if they don't they know someone else will and the longer it's dragged on, the more they have to pay out). Well within a day, she was contacted by a Solicitor who delighted in telling her how much money she could make from my insurance policy. He even came round to our house and explained the whole process... with me present as well. That's a new one on me... My wife suing me and her legal representative being in the same place as me, interviewing her.

The world has gone completely stark staring bonkers!!!
