Way To Reflash A Phat PSP To 3.71 M33-4 Custom Firmware Through The Recovery Folder

29 Dec 2007 2:25 (Edited: 29 Dec 2007 2:25)

Phat PSP Only

This Helps You Out If Your PSP Semi Bricks.

First go to your recovery menu and toggle USB.

Then download this file HERE

After download is done, Unzip the file named UPDATE.RAR and you'll have a folder named UPDATE.

After you've unzip these files go back to your psp memory through the USB.

And go to the PSP folder than into your GAME folder and create a folder named RECOVERY.

After done so, go into the folder named UPDATE (that you downloaded) and open it.

Then put all the files that are in there, inside the RECOVERY folder in your GAME folder.

Ok, after all that is over with.

All 3 files (371.PBP - EBOOT - umodule.prx)should be in the folder called recovery that you made in your GAME folder.

Before you do this next step make sure that your battery is 75% or above....i guess you can check it on your slim psp.

Go back to the recovery menu and press run program at /PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/EBOOT.PBP.

And fallow on screen instructions.

When the 3.71 M33 updater is done and your psp is back to normal go to the game menu on your XMB and run this M33 Update which will update your psp to 3.71 M33-4.

but ill make it work for ya..iight?

  • by ragingd @ 03 Jan 2008 23:45

Thanks. i downloaded the files but when I go to unzip the PSP_371_FW_UPDATE file it just leaves a eboot file not a folder

  • by Rogdrik @ 03 Jan 2008 23:46

    you only need the eboot

just rename it to say 371.pbp

    not 371.pbp.pbp

  • by ragingd @ 03 Jan 2008 23:47

What should I do to upgrade it

  • by Rogdrik @ 03 Jan 2008 23:47

i might as well tell you now

since we are going to update not reflash....after you ar done with this whole guide

rename the recovery folder to UPDATE

and run the 3,71 M33 installer from the game menu

  • by ragingd @ 03 Jan 2008 23:48

    ok I renamed it

  • by Rogdrik @ 03 Jan 2008 23:51

wait what did you rename...the eboot or the recovery folder

cause the eboot needs to be called 371.PBP

and the recovery folder needs to be called UPDATE...because we are updating not reflashing

here what you need to have before you put it in the game foldr of your memory stick

Needs to be called UPDATE the folder does

    and has to have

    371.PBP
    umodule.prx
and the eboot that came with the file named umodule.prx

  • by ragingd @ 03 Jan 2008 23:52

ok created the recovery folder in the game folder what should I do now

  • by ragingd @ 03 Jan 2008 23:54

OK I have the update folder with the three files in it. what do I do next

  • by Rorro_Rey @ 03 Jan 2008 23:55

First rename the recovery folder..to UPDATE

then put the three file in it

    371.PBP
    umodule.prx
and the eboot that came with the file named umodule.prx

  • by Rorro_Rey @ 03 Jan 2008 23:56

  • by Rorro_Rey @ 04 Jan 2008 0:06

    Sorry...im still Rogdrik

all you have to do is have a folder inside your GAME folder that is named UPDATE

then just drag the three files named (371.PBP......umodule.prx.....and the EBOOT.PBP that came with the file named umodule.prx)

  • by ragingd @ 04 Jan 2008 1:03

    .

  • by Rogdrik @ 04 Jan 2008 1:05

if you want to play homebrew games, then

    download this HERE

and unzip it and rename the eboot in there

    to be 150.PBP

    not 150.PBP.PBP

and put it in the root of the memory stick....next to the PSP and ISO folder

    not inside any of them.

    then download this HERE

and unzip it and put it in your GAME folder and run it on the GAME menu on the psp

  • by Rogdrik @ 04 Jan 2008 1:06

  • by Rogdrik @ 04 Jan 2008 1:20

    do this

if you want to play homebrew games, then

    download this [ link ]

and unzip it and rename the eboot in there

    to be 150.PBP

    not 150.PBP.PBP

and put it in the root of the memory stick....next to the PSP and ISO folder

  • by ragingd @ 04 Jan 2008 1:27

Should I run the 3.71 m33-4 update first or the 150kernel first?

  • by ragingd @ 04 Jan 2008 1:30

    .

  • by Rogdrik @ 04 Jan 2008 1:31

    doesn't matter

    but do the update first

    just do it

  • by Rogdrik @ 04 Jan 2008 1:32

    o think its safer

because it writes some more important things to flash

  • by ragingd @ 04 Jan 2008 1:34

Ok do I need to create a ISo folder? Thanks for being patient with me. I appreciate all the help.

  • by Rogdrik @ 04 Jan 2008 1:37

    its okay

    but no

because you aren't putting anything in it

you can format your memory stick when you are done

and itll make all the folders for ya

    the 150.pbp

goes next to the psp and mp_root folder...etc.

and the UPDATe folder goes in the GAME folder

  • by Rogdrik @ 04 Jan 2008 1:38

    And your welcome..;)

  • by Rogdrik @ 04 Jan 2008 1:40

hey man g2g to bed...but all you have to do at this point is

    run the 3.71 M33-4 Update

then run the 1.50 Kernel Addon

and then format your memory stick...using the format tool on system settings

  • by Rogdrik @ 04 Jan 2008 1:41

    ok?

  • by ragingd @ 04 Jan 2008 1:42

Ok i put the 150.pbp next to the psp folder. Do I delete the 3.71 update folder and put the 150kernel update folder in the GAME folder?

  • by ragingd @ 04 Jan 2008 1:42

    Your comments...

  • by ragingd @ 04 Jan 2008 1:43
