Unlike most guitars , the back view is just as interesting as the front , maybe even more so !
No mounting plate for the neck - very comfy ! And how about that "stealth logo" under the bridge ? This view also better shows the Strat-style forearm comfort contour . (at bottom left)

thanks for pointing out all those details. yes very interesting. Did you make the Killer View Guitars logo? It's cool.

Yes i did make the logo 8 ) I took it on paper to a print shop and had them print it on a transparency sheet . I had the logo in several different sizes and colors on the one sheet so I could experiment .
The plan was to put the logo on the headstock but early on I had the idea to put it also under the bridge or the neck joint . Frequently you have to use a "shim" under the neck bolts to get the neck angle right - I got lucky with that since it would have been visible had it needed it . I put it under the bridge to avoid conflict in case I did have to reset the neck ( good thing - it really needs it now ! ) I also considered engraving the logo in reverse so it would show properly when seeing it through the guitar .

I"m looking forward to seeing the other one too.

You did a great job with these. I'd love to see you have the chance to build the other guitars you've had ideas for.

    Me too 8 )

i hope you can figure out something to make them out of that isn't SO HEAVY !! it has GOT to be rough on you...but they are so cool !!

  • brainstrm (22 Apr 2006 14:48)

The heavy part is what makes it sound so good 8 ) I was talking with Jerry Reed's bass player in Nashville and he was saying he used a strap that goes over both shoulders since his bass was so heavy ! So maybe something like that - or shorter gigs either one hahaha 8 )

  • charlie8j (23 Apr 2006 13:49)

hey, the both shoulders strap thing might really help !!! too bad you weren't getting to talk to Jerry Reed also...he used to be super nice !!!

  • charlie8j (23 Apr 2006 13:51)

ok, that sounded strange....i am sure he is still really nice, but i was a child when i got to talk to him...(that is why i said used to be..)

  • dsstrlght (24 Apr 2006 3:30)

Both shoulders strap would help with the weight... also who says you have to play the same guitar the entire gig? Mix it up a bit and that would reduce the strain too.

  • brainstrm (28 Apr 2006 0:42)

I do tend to change guitars over the course of a gig , especially if it's hours long . This particular one sounds so good , it makes my others sound sort of dim in comparison so it was always hard to put it down ! 8 )
and yes I do wish I had gotten to talk with Jerry Reed himself - he seems like a very funny interesting guy 8 )
