I built two transparent KillerView guitars in 1996 , the first one a Randy Rhoads V for my personal jollies , then this Telecaster clone for the country gigs I was doing . I made both of the bodies myself ! The gold plated bridge , mounting rings and control plate are Allparts , as is the oil finish neck . I drilled out the black edge-dots on the neck and inset rhinestones in their place . The pickguard is cut from 1/8" plexiglass sheet . The lead pickup is an unusual Bill Lawrence with an EMG - style plastic cover , an L900 if I remember correctly . Big ol' thanks to Andy G. for use of his shop and to Dad for doing the buffing !
The KillerViews are two of the best - sounding guitars of my fleet . The clear plastic body is very dense and sounds similar to a maple body - super-bright with lots of definition and long sustain . The only real drawback is the weight - 14 pounds ! Seriously ! It is literally like wearing two Les Pauls on one strap . I played it every gig for several years but finally retired it - even with the ergonomic Fretsling strap , it is way too heavy to play the way I do everyday !

Very nicely done. This is a much better picture than the one I had seen before, although that one did show the transparency pretty well. You put a lot of time and effort into this and it came out really good looking. I'd love to see the Randy Rhoads V up here too.

I think it's just awesome that you did all that work and made such good guitars.
