Yay!

After I had to install Ubuntu on my 6-year-old PC to get it to start in less than 30 minutes, I decided I could use a new computer. Now I'm just eagerly waiting for the next pay day so I can order the parts.

Last Friday I ordered the processor (AMD Phenom II x4 955 BE), the monitor (BenQ G2220HD) and a new mouse (ACE MLUC250). I just picked them up at Jimm's PC-Store in Helsinki yesterday. But dangit, when I got home I found out that there was a dead pixel on the screen panel and now I'm waiting for a response from the guys at Jimm's that handle the warranty issues. Let's see if they are willing to replace the monitor.

The mouse works just fine and I bought a new mousepad too (SteelSeries QcK). The next salary isn't due until next week, so now I just have to keep waiting to order rest of the parts, i.e. the mainboard, the graphics card, the chassis and so on and so on.

Blah blah. I'll report on the results later on.
