  Hi,
  I tried to install the wii key and lifted 2 pads and a trace point. Any suggestions for a repair site that could revive it and finish the install? I have 5 wires installed it was the 6th one I messed up. Thanks

  I installed a WiiKey last week. I am familiar with working on electronics & soldering, although not usually this small. I did a short wire method and TOOK MY TIME. Upon 1st bootup, the Wii behaved normally, and would not read any backups or WiiKey config or update discs. I used Verbatum +R DVD. I took it back to the bench to recheck solder joints and did a cross circuit check. Joints were all good, and nothing shorting. I removed the WiiKey logo that I had applied to the top of the chip as an insulator, and replaced with a small piece of elect. tape. I then hooked it back up and the Wii channels showed my 1.9G update as a GCOS window. I booted the disc and got the opening Butt shot and was waiting for both the test run & the flash update. After about 20 seconds, an error message appeared, and all stopped. I shut down, but after the disc was ejected the Wii's drive reverted to the "disc in drive mode" thus not allowing another disc to be inserted. Back to the workbench. Saw nothing, and was able to load & eject discs normally with cover off. Reinstalled Wii with cover back on. Functions as a normal Wii, but will not read any config / flash, or backups. Since all of the Wiikey & backup discs are fairly new, there is a possibility that maybe the files are not right, although the 1.9G was recognized for a while. I am thinking either bad chip or bad files, and would appreciate some guidance.

  I live in Los Angeles and am nervous about installing my new Argon Wii chip. I haven't soddered in over 10 years. Any idea of any Pro Modders in my area? I'm sure some are around. Thanks.

  Hello. I have a Wii with a GC2-DMS drive with Pins attached. I need a suggestion as to which mod is best for this drive. Found the new Wii-clip, but it only works on D2C, I don't trust myself with Solder either, tried twice with a ps2 and failed, so with the chip suggestion, I need to know if you would install it?
