  First off make sure your drive can read any media. check to see if regular CDs work. You may have possibly corrupted your optical drive driver. Find out the manufacture of the drive and download the proper drivers from there site. Otherwise, you could try a driver rollback from the device manager. ( to get to the device manager:
  
  open My computer
  /right click and go to properties
  /than go to hardware
  /than device manager
  
  than go to your optical device and right click and go to properties/ driver rollback.
  
  if either of they methods do not work. go to Start/All programs/accessories/System tools/System Restore. than restore your system back to the day before your drive stopped working.
  
  If that doesn't work you may want to try and swap out your drive with another one to see if something is physically wrong with the drive ( its unlikely that it is but you never know).
  
  Its very odd that standby would do that. normally burnng take priority over hibrenation and other sleep modes.
  
  Now if NONE of that works let me know and I'll start with the complicated stuff ;) lol

  used gimp before with a ubunta cd i have didnt like it to much fireworks is ok (good 3d glass effect) and awicons is good for making small things look like 3d glass

  now there are some problems with irshell for 3.90m33 there is a way of doing it though but some stuff might not work
  
  you can get irshell3.9 and the #2 patch that makes it work for 3.90m33

  to install it FOR PHAT ONLY PM ME IF YOU HAVE A SLIM
  
  follow this
  
  1) delete any irshell stuff you have on there already thats everything that runs with irshell
  
  2) copy IRSHELL folder to the root of the memory stick
  e.g x:\IRSHELL (where x is the psp drive)
  
  3) copy seplugins to the root as well
  
  4) copy the folders from game150 to the game150 folder on your mem
  stick
  
  5) then once finished that download the Unsupported Patch #2 for irshell
  3.90m33
  
  6) copy the files out of bin and put them in the bin folder on your mem
  stick
  
  7) copy the folder 3.90 in patch and paste it into the patch folder on
  your mem stick
  
  8) now hard reset your psp (hold the power button up untill it flashes
  and then hold the r button while turning it on) and get to the recovery
  menu
  
  9) now go to plugins and enable the IRSHELL and then exit recovery
  mode and it should boot the IRSHELL
  
  if that does all not work then make sure you have everything in the right place. apart from that im cant really be of much help i never used IRshell before 0_
  
  ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  
  the link is broken to irshell (i didnt include it anyway) so if you can find the source to download it then just follow all of above and it should work

  Sorry, hate was probably a bit strong a word...it's just something i've never been into, ever since i got ripped on with a copied PS1 game when i was about 10 I've always bought original.
  To be honest, i don't feel that there are enough truly excellent games out there to warrant piracy...there are maybe 2 games every few months that i actually want to play, so i prefer to just buy them, and wither keep them or trade them in when im done.
  
  On another note, glad to see you back :) ...i noticed it said your account was closed under your posts, would have been a shame for the site to lose a member like you!

  i need to get round to making some new sigs but im just mucking about with some ready made renders im not sure what to do with them. i used to make all the renders my self but took to dam long.
  
  o vocaloid was made to be used as a backing vocal to dance song and stuff like that (mainly for anime series that had a low budget) and it was to save cost on paying for a singer and making them sing in the correct key
  
  but iv never used it (too complicated for me i had fl studio 8 once and was just 0_o) i just like the little characters they have.

  Some hackers used the ChickHen to somehow enable installation of custom firmware.
  Not M33 version. But an exclusive one called 5.03 GEN. =D
