Mini Guide: How to Install the 1.50 addon for your PSP

Is your homebrew not working after you updated your psp ? Well ... maybe because you didn't install the 1.50 addon for your psp. Here is a mini Guide to install the 1.50 addon. This does NOT work for psp slim. However, there is an alternative way to play 1.50 kernel homebrew for the slim ( Look at the FAQ for more info).

NOTE : Installing the 1.50 addon will delete the locationfreeplayer and Korean Font, due to lack of space

Requirements
1. The 1.50 addon for your firmware ( Find your firmware below)
2. The 1.50 Eboot
3. A Custom Firmware PSP. If you do not see your firmware in this list. Then, you do not need to install the 1.50 addon (or either I didn't update my guide yet)

Must READ - These steps come first

Changing the Game Kernel
1. Turn off the PSP fully ( Hold the power button)
2. Turn it on again while holding R
3. This should bring you to the recovery mode
4. Go to Config and change the GAME kernel to 3.XX or 4.XX ( Where X is the number of your firmware)
5. Exit the recovery mode (Unless you know what you are doing, don't change the kernel)

Putting the 1.50 eboot into place
1. Download the 1.50 eboot (link on the requirement section) and extract into your dektop.
2. Rename the file to 150.PBP
3. Copy the 150.PBP into the root of your PSP. ( E.g. X:/150.PBP where X is the your PSP driver letter)

Finding the Firmware
1. Turn on the PSP.
2. Go to the "Settings" category (it's the one farthest to the left).
3. Scroll down to the "System Settings" icon and press x.
4. Scroll down to "System Information" and press x.
5. The screen will display the PSP's MAC Address, System Software Version, and Nickname. The "System Software Version" is the firmware version.
6. Find the firmware in this guide

For 3.71 M33
1. Download the 1.50 kernel from here : LINK
2. Extract the file, and put the UPDATE folder into the GAME folder of your PSP
3. Lauch the application and install the 1.50 kernel

For 3.80 M33
1. Download the 1.50 kernel from here : LINK
2. Extract the file, and rename the folder into UPDATE. Copy the folder into the GAME folder of your PSP.
3. Lauch the application and install the 1.50 kernel

For 3.90 M33
1. Download the 1.50 kernel from here : LINK
2. Extract the file, and rename the folder into UPDATE. Copy the folder into the GAME folder of your PSP.
3. Lauch the application and install the 1.50 kernel

For 4.01 M33
1. Download the 1.50 kernel from here : LINK
2. Extract the file, and rename the folder into UPDATE. Copy the folder into the GAME folder of your PSP.
3. Lauch the application and install the 1.50 kernel

Q: I have a Slim PSP. Is there a way to play 1.50 kernel homebrew ?
A: Use this GUIDE

Q: How can I tell which is 1.50 homebrew ?
A: Read the readme.txt and check if it needs the 1.50 kernel. If it dosent say, or you aren't sure. Here is a note, usually 1.50 kernel homebrew come in two folders, for example ( homebrew and homebrew%). Place these two folders into the GAME folder. If there is one put it in the GAME folder. If it doesn't work, then it is not a 1.50 kernel homebrew

Q: How can I play homebrew ?
A: Reformat your memory card via PSP. Place the homebrew on the GAME150 folder.

Q: How can I play 3.XX or 4.XX homebrew ?
A: Put the homebrew on the GAME folder.
