Oh, and since youre feeling like Abraham Lincoln (hee hee), the AD guide you linked me to has this message NOTE: Before youre going to rip any DVDs/movies or insert any original DVDs into your drive, lets disable AutoRun (this is highly recommend) to prevent from getting hijacked by Settecs Alpha-DVD protection. Some DVDs will install bunch of craps into your system without your consent if you have AutoRun turn On and it will abort or crash your system when its transcoding or burning. In addition, it even goes as far as removing your burners, etc.
Does this apply to Vista as well? I did this and went to load up my Easycap and the disc opened up as file folders instead of just launching, so having all my autorun stuff off makes some tasks that were once simplistic, well...less simplistic. Now my Easycap isnt running quite right as I had to manually load the drivers and Im showing 2 USB mice instead of a USB mouse and a USB Easycap in another port like it ought to. Now I get no audio preview on my Easycap, my VHSs still ripped fine and burned clean, but I liked having audio preview so I can listen to the flick in the background while I work on my desktop instead of listening to my Vista Lappie grind out the rip. Sorry if Im being overly enthusiastic (theres a euphamism for ya, like pleasantly plump or jumbo shrimp!) but I kinda go balls out with everything I have a passion for and this is just a total blast. Its like trying to figure out who-done-it in a murder mystery and such a rush when you make a good disk. My first 25 pack made like 5 and 20 coasters, this time I bought a 100 pack of Verbatim, only tossed 2 of 10 so my odds are improving. Im Tommy, its nice to meet you.

Cool name. Would you tell me which products you use and in what order so I can try it your way? Ie. Rip with AnyDVD, code with Fixvts, Shrink with DVDShrink and burn with Imgburn? Are you supposed to rip, transcode, shrink then burn or rip, shrink, code then burn? Trouble is I just ripped and coded and now DVDShrink isnt recognizing my VOB files as VOB, and they are. It does show as VLC VOB files if thats my quandry (I have VideoLAN on my Lappie to preview my rip and somehow all my video files are linked to VLN? I hope Ive done this in proper fashion as Im still trying to understand both the rules and common courtesy (Momma raised a very polite boy) (-;/ Much gratitude
