Mediaguru,

I just switched to a MAC after using a PC for years, and I have for the longest time been using free software on a PC to Rip/Shrink/Burn dvds. I read through your updated forum posting, and was curious if you could inform me where I can download these programs. I found a copy of MTR on Macupdate.com, but I still need to find a compressor (DVD2OneX is only a 30 day trial). Also, will software preinstalled on my mac be able to burn the dvd, or do you recommend something like Toast still (also, where can I go abouts finding it for free :) Also, what torrent sites do you recommend using for downloading stuff? Could you email me @ dman0624@gmail.com ?? Thanks, i appreciate any help you can provide.

Greetings...

Would greatly appreciate help with the following...

Recently downloaded a torrent that separated into 4 folders:
CD1
CD2
Samples
Subs

CD1 folder has an .avi file that seems to be part 1 of the movie
CD2 folder has an .avi file that seems to be part 2 of the movie

Used VisualHub program to try to Stitch Videos Together option;
end result is a black screen with skipping audio.

Any suggestions/solutions?

Many thanks in advance!

P.S.
Im using a PowerMac G4

Sorry, hadnt seen your excellent post on burning optical media with a Mac, posted (permanently) on AfterDawn. I moved my recent post on this to a reply on yours, but couldnt erase my original. No matter, my original will disappear. This is just an apology.

Im sure this has been asked but what about burning with Toast and using a dual layer dvd. I have tried this but Toast wont recognize the dvd. I have tried multiple brands of dvd but all the results are the same. Toast only sees the dvd dl as a blank cd. thanks.

I have read your mac rip, compress burn guide....I realize you havent had a chance to update it, but was wondering what exactly do I need? Mac the ripper and toast 8? would that be it? do I even need toast 8 if I use DVD imager? If I do use DVD imager, will that and only mac the ripper work? thanx for your help!
