I used to be in the USAF many moons ago. Worked on the electronic warfare systems (things that keep those big planes from being shot down). I think i have a pic of me working on one of those somewhere.

I think some programs put on the burnt disc what brand and type of DVD burner was used, things like the time and date, but it would be very hard to track it down to a specific computer. It doesn't put anything like your IP address on it, or your Nero serial number, and keep in mind there are many many computers out there. Too many to narrow it down to one computer burnt a disc..

Dont worry, those types of post happen every so often. Someone will post something as a fact, and when we confront them with the REAL facts, then they start name calling and crying.. Now we can get all Pissed about it, or we can have some fun. I decided to have fun, and gear is always out for fun on these threads.. Kinda makes you almost feel sorry for the poster, but hey, we didn't make them type that stuff. And this way the thread stayed open. I have had some good comebacks in a spam war thread, and the mods took the whole thread off the web. There was some good informative stuff about burn speed when this idoit hijacks the thread, and starts talking about "concuring AD" or some such crap.. They shut him down, but took the whole thread with it. I guess some mod didnt want to edit the idiots post and just deleted the whole thing. Now shut them down with humor, and everyone has fun, except the idiot. That is the way it should be, we get our way, and they get the highway.
Gear79 will be missed. He was a good buddy. Hopefully he will be back some day. He isn't dead, though it sounds like it the way we carry on about him. Thanks for the rescue buddy. I, too, get tired of answering basic questions in my "shoutbox". I've been too nice and trying to help, but some Newbies just don't get it. I think I'm going to cut back some little by little. I've come to conclusion that most of them have either "not the latest from AnyDVD or DVD43" running in the background while ripping the movie with DVDFAB Decrypter or while processing the video_ts.ifo file through VobBlanker. Therefore, it's giving them issues.
I've clearly told people tons and tons of times that if they have the LATEST from Anydvd, then use it wisely. And if they don't then just use DVDFAB Decrypter (the latest) to rip, and process the VIDEO_TS.IFO file through VobBlanker. However, Newbies just don't get it. So screwed them, if they can't read and can't follow - I'm sorry, but I'm just so fed up sometime. Honestly, I've never ran into any dvds/movies that DVDFAB Decrypter or VobBlanker can not handle.
Yes, I do get tired of answering the same questions over and over again, like... I get unsynchronized vob, my file is only 1 or 2 GB, I have some cut off/short/missing scenes, blah, blah, etc. whatever.

And that excuse that he gave Ozzy214 via email about problems at home doesn't wash with me. We all have problems of varying magnitudes and we have to sort them out. What better way for him to have done that than step away and reassess the situation which he was advised to do and could have opted to do so even without intervention. Afterall he's supposed to be an adult. Ddp had to cut him loose, it was inevitable. I really do hate situatons like that because I don't think anyone really wins in such a case. Having been a Senior though made his actions all the more reprehensible imho. Anyways enough of that sordid tale. When are ya getting the new pics?. (drooling, slurp, slurp). Can't wait. Im back, and i wasnt completely gone. Short trip. l realized AD and my buddies here are a support group/therapy for me in a way. Cutting you out of my life was not helping me with the other battles in my life.
Lets just say AD is the least of my problems/addictions. Control is the key. Now where did i place that key? Oh yeah, i remember, i threw it out the window at 100 mph.
I wanted to keep my ratio of good vs useless posts high. High on the good side. Low on the useless side. Problem is, i cant really help myself right now, so im not going to be able to help others much either.
I didnt want to get attention by going away. I wanted to get control of my life, and come back here when that happened. Yeah, most of you saw the falicy of that logic right away. I am not going to be able to get that kind of control over my life EVER. No, im just going to have to cope with this in my own way. I am not seeking sympathy, or attention. I just wanted to explain to all of you whats going on with me, and why i may seem stranger than usual.
I wont take on as many problems at a time. I have to fight one fire at a time. Most of you are human out there, so you will have seen most of the problems humans can get in to. Look closely, and you will see me there hanging out with all the other demons.. They just got a bum rap. Society labeled them as demons. No wonder they are pissed off.

Each day is a struggle for many of us. My problems are no greater than others, except these are my problems, so they have special importance to me. I will get over them, or control them. Ive had a good look at the bottom of the barrel, and it isnt pretty. I didnt hit rock bottom, but came very close. 99% was of my own doing. I have to leave 1% out as im giving myself 99% of the blame, something else can take that last 1%.
All i can say is we should try to live life wisely. It wont last long, and we should try to make most of it as good for ourselves and others. Many times when we drag ourselves down, we take others with us. Usually the ones that care the most about us. This time it was a solo roller coaster ride to the bottom for me. If i make it back to the top, i aint getting on that ride again, if i can help it.

I've had a number of firearms over the years. Glocks, rugers, s&w's, just keep coming back to the glocks. Too simple to use and nothing mechanical to go wrong.
Hey buddy, At first i didnt like the glocks as they felt funny compared to a colt .45 or a smith, but they are good guns and stand up better than many traditional ones. I saw your springfield, nice.. Ive got a colt combat comander .45 with some mods. I like the .40 cal glocks but the .357 sig looks nice too.

Yeah, it's not really a fair fight. I was the crack head of weed smokers. I would always try to get my friends to role syrup blunts. I would cough my ass off and almost puke, but man they got you ripped. I had a $15 bong from a local head shop, it was so harsh that I was the only one who would hit it. All my friends still smoke, I still appreciate good crippy (high grade bud with THC crystals visible to the naked eye), I've been told the term crippy is relegated to the south. So, i had a kinda quiet party going on. Listening to blues all night, and working on nero burn logs. Now all the logs are burnt out, and im starting to get that way myself. I even did a poem on Jamz poetry page. Warning, its not the best in the world, and im running on fumes.. [ link ]
Dear god, I'd have to be stoned to look at Nero logs all night. I won't rip your for being into poetry, I used to write quite a bit. I took a couple classes about Poetry and creative writing, thought about being a writer at one point. I'll check out your poem and give you some constructive criticism. I started to write a book based on anime, Dragonball Z, Xenogears, and a couple other things. I got about 20,000 words in and realized I hated writing lol. The plot was so complex noone could understand it, including myself. Maybe I'll finish it one day. I always wanted to write the script for an anime/RPG. Something dark, complex, and gripping. When writing, battle scenes are fuuuuunnnnnn!!! Imagine Dragonall with swords and your close to what I had in mind lol. I loved doing the battle scenes. Of course I tried to make the plot too complex. I shifted view points so much, it was difficult to get a feel for the characters. Anyway sorry for the rant, I'll check out your poem. Cheers! No comment on the poetry... I know it's not intended to be people's best submissions... so I'll leave it at that. My shite is all dark and gloony, besides which... well it takes a lot of courage to post things for the world to see.

I too have thought about writing, but it is much more complex than it looks. I have an active imagination, and to write stuff it seems like you need a structured mind. My mind is anything but structured. As a matter of fact, my brain is waaay overdue for some de-fragmenting!
Yeah I didn't want to insult anyone for trying. My poetry isn't anything worthy of publication. If it is a little more polished, it's because I've taken creative writing and poetry classes. Anyone can learn to write good poetry, the ability to write great poetry is something you're born with or not. I'm a decent poet, but would never be a great one. There's a profound mystical understanding of the universe that's required to put images, thoughts, and feelings into words, and have them convey the intended meaning to the audience as well as the author. Ya got it or ya don't, 99.9% of people don't. Writing is very complex. To be a good writer, you have to love to read and to write. I like to write, I hate reading. It's almost impossible to make a living as a poet, many famous poets didn't achieve fame until they had died. Most people bide their time teaching Engilsh, working at magazines, writing in their spare time hoping to hit the big time. Very few do. Just having a natural aptitude isn't enough, you have to love to do it. I would like to write for a magazine or editorials, but writing a book, that's a whole other story.

You are soo right about writing and poetry. It looks easy, but it isnt. Well, not the good stuff. I just started makiing the poems in Word so it would spell check for me. I look at some of the words, and think about tweeking them a little to make it flow better, or get the point across with more humor, or stronger emotions, but that really starts becoming WORK, not fun... not fun.. I do put those poems in there, cant really say why, and i dont think i have the drive to make it professionally as a poet. If i make my AD buddies happy with them, then thats enough reward for me.
Also good poets, much like good artists, are really very troubled souls trying to convey their pain/suffering to the rest of the world, in the best way they can. Maybe not all good artists and poets suffer, but those are the ones i connect with. Anybody can do happy, fluffy, non-controversial, stuff. Id rather be moved by art, music, poetry, words... Seems to burn into the brain better than pictures.

Hows Baton Rouge holding up? My month and day birthday is correct on this homepage, but the year is the oldest i could select on this thing, or i would have gone much older than born in 1900. :) Time is a human concept. Believe in it, and it limits you. You become structured into its pattern and start noticing times passage, and not noticing other things. All we are really marking is our time, lifespan in this reality. Once we go from this, im sure we continue on in some other way. I guess i am arguing for a soul. I hope i still have one left.. :)
So, im at the video store and this guy behind the counter says to me "what up homie?" in an attempt at releaving boredom, humor, who knows? I was dressed sorta gangster like, but lucky for him i wasnt packin. I thought of the TI/killer mike song "You dont know me" as i gave him a blank stare, 1000 yard stare. The guy tried one more gangsta slang thing at me, and again i was calm as a bomb. Its just one of those social things most humans get, but it goes right over my head sometimes. Where i came from, places ive been, you dont call someone a homie, unless they really are your homie. Or you know them well enough that you know they can take a joke without going postal. Doing other wise could cost you dearly. Now, im not violent, unless backed against a wall, but sometimes it is really hard for me to control myself. I want to just beat tha sh*t out of him with words, (mentally im doing much worse to him) but i wind up being quiet while i try to control that demon inside of me. Even trying to pull up a thank you out of myself, or something to releave the stress for him.

Yessir all my poetry was dark, so was the psuedo-novel I tried to write. Death, destruction, chaos, complexity, yada yada. That's what I like. I like it when the hero dies. There's too many Hollywood endings nowadays. I know what ya mean about people. I shout obscenities at peeps all the time while driving. Sometimes you wonder if you have mental problems or if that's normal. According to professionals I've talked to, it's normal. You have to vent somehow, I've even been told by people in the helping field yelling obscenities with the windows up is healthy. It's a good way to vent. I come from a family where emotions were discouraged, most of all anger. It took me a long time to realize that wasn't normal. Now I yell til my heart's content, a lot less than I used to. It's good to get angry sometimes, it lets you know you're still alive. Anyway sorry for the rant, I always get philosophical and shit while I'm here. Here's something funny.

Translation: Me and my chums are heading to a gathering at Dexters townhouse. There will be some lovely young females to fraternize with. Jim Bob and Skeeter will be present at this soiree. They were up to the usual tomfoolery the other day, joking about how they wish to have a double penetration orgy with my sister. I will not stand for such callous disregard of chivalry. I believe I will make those blokes bend over and squeal while I sodomize them in the anus.

I guess my biggest fear is that i unleash some of this rage, and not be able to control it. Cant let the animal completely out of the cage. I guess thats where the windows rolled up yelling is better than windows down, and an AK doing the yelling. Like tailgating me MF? Hows about a few rounds tailgating yer ass?? See, i actually think these things sometimes, but i dont really unload on them. Thats because my fantasy story continues with the law getting involved, and me either dead or on the run. Doesnt make for a long lasting movie, and why go out over a tailgating? Thats logic, but rage hardly ever gets along well with logic. Fantasies help, as long as i add the reality of the consequences of my actions catching up to me.
Yes I do my yelling while watching DragonBall Z or playing RPG's, no violence for me. Got class all day tomorrow, so I can't wait to get that over with and get on to an exciting weekend on AD and playing games lol.

Thanks, Herbal remedies really do help calm the situation down. Im coming off that edge, and am forcing myself to slow down, even when driving. Its a pain to go the speed limit. Lets just say, much of my stress was chemically induced, and it wasnt the green stuff doing that. My thoughts about doing something radical to someone for dissin me, (or a perceived dissin) is what made me wake up and realize how out of character that is for me. Im much more non-confrontational, but when you have some stuff pumping in your bloodstream, control becomes much harder.
Yes, i know the answer is to not do those chemicals.. Easier said than done, as many of you know. Ill level out and maintain. Ive seen some reall addicts, and it isnt pretty. Those damn dragons keep coming back to life. Seems like all they did while gone, was increase the effectiveness of their flame blasts.. :)

You may not notice it, but having 1 meg or more of memory on your system will decrease your CPU usage, and many programs will run faster, but maybe not noticeable unless you time them. The speed increase will probably be noticed in the decreased amount of time for encoding files when ripping.
You will also be able to have more programs open without causing Nero problems, as long as you still dont multi-task while burning. More memory than you need is not a problem. Less memory than you need IS a problem. My brain could use a few sticks upgrade, and sometimes i think my brain processor is running at 4 MHZ. The clock speed of some of the first personal CPUs, Intel 8088. Wish i would have kept my first computer, but i gave it away to a niece, and she probably threw it away many years ago. My first personal computer was a Tandy 1000. 256mb memory, mono chrome, 5 1/2 inch floppy drives only, remember 350kb disc capacity? and my first HD i added to that one was a seagate 20meg, and it costs around 300 bucks back then. Those were the days, but i cant say they were good old days.. :) I like the new stuff much better.

What's up Max. Hey man I don't mean to pry, if you smoke herb, that's one thing, but when you talk about having things in your bloodstream, that's a different story. Be careful man, don't get into anything too hardcore, that shit'll fuck you up. Upgrading your RAM is the most cost effective way to turbo charge your PC. I had 128MB's of RAM for a year. That's 1/2 of the bare minimum one should have with XP. I got so tired of it, that I slapped a GB of PC 2700 DDR RAM in my PC, and the rest was history. Once you get use to a gig, there's no going back. Lag and lockups are a thing of the past. Crucial.com has some great deals on Memory, and they are very reputable, check em out.
Their RAM is very high quality, and their customer service is terrific. On a personal note, I was a hair away from making my account inactive. There was a lot of conflict between me and a couple yahoos. The mods plead with me to reconsider, and I decided to just walk away from AD, rather than deal with the BS anymore. I've been involved on Xtreme-Source. It's a small site, but the people are alot more friendly than here. I applied for a moderator job there. You guys should check it out. [ link ]

Memory prices just keep coming down. Thats a very good price for 1GB. About 6 months ago, i paid that price for 512MB sticks.
AD will always have members who test the rules, and at the same time test our sanity. The only advice i can give on that is, get good at spotting the trouble posters, and avoid them if you dont like conflict. You can also igonore them, but that is hard to do also. And if you left here completly, AD would feel the loss. Dont let the idiots run you off. Ive seen many of your posts, and you are a part of AD. Let the ones who need your help draw you back. I know many of the ones needing help dont know how to ask for it, or how to say thanks when they do get it. I figure im giving out free advice, so i cant put a value on it, or expect anything positive in return. I try to help, most times i do. The flame wars, and idea wars are the real drag here. Dont let them drag you completly down. :)

Yeah I've been busy as hell over there. I put in 16 hours or so in the last two days. Had class all day today, so taking a night off tonight. I take it seriously. It's pretty cool though. I've learned about photo editing, PC's, html, and other cool stuff. It's been a refreshing change of pace. I've needed to part ways with AD for awhile, but I just didn't have the courage. I'll still be around here in a very limited capacity. Take care.

Ive been on vacation, so i pop in to AD probably less often than when im on a regular schedule. Been playing with the computer, and actually watching some movies. Im doing ok. Well, ive been thinking about doing a lot of work, and i have a very impressive list of things to do.. LOL Ive knocked off a couple of list items in a week. Ive been working more overtime, and got caught up in a spring cleaning thing around the house during my off time. That, and i have actually watched a few movies. HOSTEL is a good one, pretty gory in some parts, but a good horror filck. AEON FLUX was good too. I also finally watched ISLAND. Not bad, but it seemed to take parts of other movie plots and mixed it in. I have 100s more to watch, but i cant watch them all at once. My retinas would burn out.
I will try to visit AD more often, but there is a lot of work to do around here, and only one of me (not counting all the voices in my head). :)
Sup Max, haven't been around AD much. I'm busy with school (finals next week) and XS. The console sections here are still laughable, and a waste of my time. How're you doing? Sounds like you're working yourself to death. I bet you still find time to blaze up lol. Don't work too hard. FYI I cleaned out my registry a couple weeks back, and that fixed my Nero probs. Gotta have a working Nero, didn't realize I liked it until it didn't work. Anyway take care man.

Yes, im burning the candle at both ends.. LOL I will get tired of working OT even if the money is good. We all need a break from stress. Working extra keeps me out of trouble, and i have extra cash, which leads to more trouble if i let it get that way.
Glad you got your nero problem fixed. Those registry ones can be hard to find. Usually running the nero cleantool before installing a different version is the best way to prevent that. Nero did invent INCD afterall so they know how to get programs to stick in a system.

Ive only just this last couple of days been visiting AD. I use Nero 7 version 7.0.8.2 and it seems ok. I know there has been an update or two since then, but im worried about Nero bugs, so i havent updated. Im using AnyDVD and CloneDVD2 for my movie rips, and i love them. Used Shrink to join The Triangle into one DVD5 disc recently. I mostly use Nero for burning audio CDs or MP3s, and it works fine for that. Thanks for the free offer, but i paid for my Nero 7 and it works ok for me. I have to have it if i want to remain a Nero troubleshooter.. LOL
Ill try to visit AD, and your shoutbox more often. A good dose of Adriana L. is what i need, and your homepage it just the ticket. :)

We will jump thru flaming hoops, or do just about anything to get it. Do you know of anyone who says they have too much money?? The very rich have too much money, but i bet they dont say that if you ask them.

I work for a large computer chip manufacturer as a technician. Im inside the cleanrooms, operating, and working on the $$$ equipment that makes the chips. Im not saying the name of the company as then ppl will start thinking i represent them. I get paid by them, but im not a spokesman. So i avoid the whole issue by just stating it the way i did.
I work 12 hr shifts 6pm to 6am, and ive been putting in overtime.
With all that, and visiting other planets, i have been very busy lately. :)

That working OT sure takes it out of me. I guess thats why they call it overtime, kicking in the afterburner. A dragon offered to help me in the extra energy department, but i said no thanks. You get the extra energy, but at what cost? Ill just stick with coffee. The dragon forgot to mention, it is the main reason i have to work OT now. Silly dragon. Everything comes with a price you have to pay, one way or the other.
Even the voices in my head are tired from all the work. They also supply the poetry, so i guess they are on strike. Where do the voices go when they get bored? Someone else's head? They come back, so it must be just a day-trip, or a weekender. Its real corny when a voice in my head comes back, and all the other voices make a big production welcoming it back.. They have cake, noisemakers (like they need any), drugs, alcohol, slutty women, gambling, fights, and they leave my brain with a big mess to clean up the next day.

Ive been working in the Nero and Shrink forums a little these past couple of days. Good old burn logs... They dont seem to be getting any easier to work on. Maybe its just me getting dumber?? I seem to have lost a couple of braincells. Anybody seen them?

I spent some time last night reading the whole brobear banning thread/threads. Also read the Neph "bitch at me about brobear" thread. No one is, or should be, immune from banning. Break the rules, and pay the price. We do not get to see PMs sent to other members so someone could have a Jeckel and Hyde personna and appear fine in public, but a real monster in PMs. We all disagree on something. It is how we disagree that makes the difference. Once things get un-civlilized, debate is over, and the fighting has begun. Then it comes down to who is the better word warrior in our case here. Who needs that crap? We should try to work as a team and support eachother and help the newbies, and others seaking help. Making friends along the way, and having fun doing it. Thats my vision of the A.D. community. Yes, we have to have police (mods) to enforce the rules and curb abuse. No rules = anything goes, including me, because i cant work, or have fun in that type of environment. Only the judge, who has all the facts, can make the proper decision. I trust the mods and staff here at A.D. to do the right thing. I think they do a great job. If anything the mods have been too easy here, but that seems to be changing now. Believe me, i know they didnt make the banning of an A.D. addict without giving it considerable thought. If anything, addict status probably bought BB some time and extra warnings that lesser status might not get. We cant know the minds of others and anything else is pure speculation. Help, learn, make friends, and have fun. That is what A.D. should be for. We are a community made up of members who come and go. Most are good, some are bad. Very few in-between. The regulars, the ones who stay and contribute in some way, have a responsibility to at least follow the rules.

For me, its worth it, as i get to help others, and make friends too. Cyberfriends are better than no friends at all.

With all the stress going on in my life, it seems like i cant take anymore. Yet, i know even more stress will happen. I just feel it. I was working too much at my real job, so i took a small break from everything. I knew working OT would burn me out so i planned a mini-vacation (2days off). Instead of working at the job, ive been cleaning that messy kitchen of mine. Being alone, i tend to use the microwave mostly, but the counters were filled with clutter. Went thru my cabinet and found food that expired in 2004 mostly but found one thing dated 1999. I guess im a pack rat. I guess i went from working at work, to working at home, and calling it a vacation. LOL
The things i need to do, and should do, mount up in my head sometimes, and it drives me crazier than normal. It feels good to get something done, that ive been putting off for a very long time. I just needed the proper motivation. I still have many things to do, but that kitchen is one less thing on that massive list.

That link you provided is what i call a "spoon feeder". I once thought one i found was an alien probe, as it kept asking questions.. kinda like a brain drain. Every question answered would lead to at least 3 more questions. It drove me nuts, (more so than usual) and i stopped responding to the constant questions from it. Those types are either are very stupid/lazy/immature or, as i suspect in some cases, an ALIEN PROBE designed to drain the brainpower of AD. Sometimes it has to be a kid that got ahold of a computer, and its a big game for them to keep a thread alive with constant questions. I guess i have an upper limit to the amount of help i will give a spoon feeder. I understand we are all noobs at something, but i try to do a little research of my own before asking a lot of questions. I strive to have the patience of a zen master, but i can barely spell zen.

It doesn't mean that i don't have my ocasional taste of gear, but i do it 'recreationally' now... Like... Once a month or something like that... :-)
I joined a gym as well, they got me taking these weird pills with lots of components that end up in 'drine', it's making me lose fat really quick, i know that's really dodgy shit i'm taking, but what the hell... Feel really good when i'm pumping iron tough...
As for work... Fuck work! I quit my job as a design engineer to work in a shitty warehouse... A little less money, a lot less hassle! But... there's NO WOMEN! (i'm not very happy with that last bit, but those were the rules of my mrs game... lol)

Things have been very stressful for me for a while now, but the outlook is better for me. I feel like i have better control of things, but still dont have much spare time to come into AD very often. Im still working way too much, and not partying enough. Im also negelcting lots of work that needs to be done around my home, but... ill get to it. I need a nice girl like Adriana Lima to come help around the house doing light domestic work.. Yeah right, like she would get those nails dirty and loose some big bucks modeling contract all for me.. Nope, as pretty as she is, she is def a high maintainance girl. sigh...

My damn Plextor 18x burner still hasnt arrived. It was supposed to be here last week, then they delayed it until a yesterday arrival, supposedly. No dice. Well i can get by on one burner, i guess for a little longer. Maybe it will drop by today. Those drives are popular and backordered in most places. Dell didnt give me a tracking number so i guess i get it when it gets here.
Ill just have to burn something else in the mean time. Now where did that pipe go???

Ive been taking a little break from AD. It wasnt planned, just happened that way.
Exploring the desert is fun, and takes the mind away from pain of all kinds. Even with a GPS you can get lost out there. Ive been lost before, but i must have found my way back because here I am.

My former girlfriend died a couple of weeks ago. She got hit by a car whlie walking along, or crossing a road. Closed casket funeral. She was only 22 and was full of life until it was taken from her. Even though we had broken up, I never stopped loving her, and i wont stop until i too vanish from this earth, and even then, i will still love her, if anything of me survives after death. Dragon Lady your fire will always burn in my heart, and the earth has sustained a great loss because of your absence.

Ive been away from the forums for a while. Been busy, and have had a lot of things happen to me lately. I slipped and fell on ice and busted my right shoulder and arm. So that kind of limits typing. But im getting better. The damn doctors wouldnt give me REAL pain killers. They proscribed KETOPROFEN which seems to be a costly version of ibuprofen and no better in killing pain. I needed something with opium or cocaine in it. The one time i am really in pain, and they wouldnt give me a real painkiller. I finally downed most of a bottle of teqila and that worked. Getting old sucks, and pain really sucks.
Sounds like you've been dealt some bad luck. We have no ice here altho it's going to be 25 tonight. I would love about 6" of snow. I know about the physicians and pain meds. They can be a little too conservative. The DEA is watching but they are looking for the many scripts to the same person. I know when I take a tooth out, they leave with good pain meds, not a lot of them but enough to get them by first 4 or 5 days. Tequilla just makes you forget the pain.LOL I know about the getting old part. I just made 61 and I really feel old now. It seems I'm transitioning to the final act of life but not reached the epilogue yet. Good friends dying here and there. My 86 yr old Mom is ready to go now and she's still 100% aware, just with pains and losing vision. I always say getting old is the pits but it beats the alternative. Hang in there buddy.

Yes, ive been absent from AD for a while. Recently my X girlfriend got killed, and i got injured more than once, of my own fault, or act of god, who knows? Ive been going thru changes, kinda like that YES song. But im still me deep down inside, and i havent forgoten my buddies at AD. I get most of my pics from the NASA web site or links from it. The Hubble still takes some of the best space pics because its in space... the final frontier.. :)
what doesn't kill me only incredibly weakens me so something else can. :-P

Like the black hawk down that u did? I have like 100 movies I want to back up but I have to find the movie pics for them, are there links that i can just click the movies and download labels? For the covers that I dont have available to scan in on my flatbed scanner, i go to www.cdcovers.cc :
[ link ] . From there you can search by title or subject. I just copy the jpeg image to my computer and use it as the background image for the lightscribe. They have covers and disc pictures and you just click on the one you want to download. Its free and that is the main one i use when i dont have my own cover.
For verb lightscribe you might try supermediastore.com they have sales on from time to time. For the cheapest, you might have to do a google search. Also, check out the DVD+-R MEDIA forum here. They post the weekly sales prices and locations, and you might find them cheap locally.
Hey buddy congrats on the AD Addict status. I guess you stopped Lurking? LOL. Im in more of a dormant standby mode. I dont seem to have the time to come here very often. A lot of shit happened to me at once, so life kinda threw me a diversion. Anyways... I made it, im still here, but changed with some scars inside and out, but thats life. Nobody lives thru it without getting some scars.

Lately most of my AD visits have been just lurking/checking things out, and i dont do that very often. A lot of things happened to me at once both physical and mental and i had to use all my energy on self defense/repair. Im ok, what doesnt kill you, only makes you stronger.
Well i hope things work out and get better for you. I have to admit, thats not entirely selfless lol, one reason i hope that is so that you get ur butt back on aD more!! Lol.

I got laid off from my job that i had been working at for the last 12 years. All is good though. I figure they added another 10 years to my life in reduced stress. I was working nights, 12 hours shifts, and that can take it out of you also. Anyway, i always wanted to retire early. :)

Glad to see you stuck it out. Sometimes this place can be too addictive, and real life is going on all around us. In my case life smacked me in the face a few times and let me know there is another world out there called Reality. I know, it sux, but sometimes we have to face it. I try to find good things in bad situations, and try to stay out of bad situations if i can help it. Im trying to get back into the helping people with problems mode. It helps me to forget my own problems, and it makes me feel good when i can help someone, even if they are across the world in cyberspace. :)

No, they didnt get me. Im free, or what we call early retirement. I just got tired of working for others after getting laid off. Eventually the 401k money will run out, but until then, im enjoying not working for once in my life. Dont even wear a watch as time doesnt really matter anymore. I have a hard time keeping track of what day it is. I dont visit here very often, and when i check the forums, everyone seems to have their problems solved at least on the ones i look at.
I will still check back here from time to time, and help when i can. Rest of the time ill be goofing off somewhere else... Got a PS3 so ive been killing Natzis in some games during my spare time.
