2008 CANBERRA OLYMPIC TORCH RELAY

02 May 2008 8:48

THE TORCH RELAY WAS FUCKIN AWESOME!!! 15,000 Pro-Chinese, most from Sydney and Melbourne, marched together in an act of patriotism, against the Tibetan protesters. We easily outnumbered the protesters, there were very few who came.

I arrived at Reconciliation Place (near Questacon and Old Parliament House) at around 6am. This was probably when there were most Pro-Chinese, bussed in from Sydney and Melbourne (at their own expenses!!! damn fkn rumours from protesters about the embassy). According to Phoenix TV, there were about 15,000 Chinese bussed in. At this time, while all the Pro-Tibetans were home asleep, I spent the time wondering around and taking pictures. At this point, none of my friends in my little group arrived (lazy cunts lol). Most arrived at around 8am. There were FKN HEAPS of Chinese - It was almost like Tiananmen - only without the People's Armed Police. People were singing the National Anthem (March of the Volunteers, a song depicting a story during the Korean War, when 5,000,000 PLVA troops outnumbered the US attack force, a scene that can be seen today in Canberra), and you could see people's patriotism and nationalism in all directions, the prime colour visible being red.

Later on, still early in the morning, a few Pro-Tibetan protesters began to pour in. The (OMFG CUNNING!!!NOT) police *smartly* separated us from the Tibetan protesters. Since they took up so much empty space, some Chinese decided to cross the line, and "claim more territory". Then, a man on the loudspeaker said, "Will the people with the red flags come on this side or the day will go nowhere. You are welcome in Canberra but we are a city of peace." (FKN CUNT!!!)

You could see many *cough* biased *cough* media news vans throughout the place. You had ABC News Radio (666AM), Seven News, Win News, Sky News... and I saw a couple of people representing Phoenix TV and CCTV. I couldn't find any CNN van - if there was one around, it'd probably be smashed.

Most of the Chinese here weren't just present to counter against Tibetan Independence and cause a racket. Many were there to support the Olympics; others were there to protest against bias from western media such as CNN and BBC against China.

At around 8am, when my mates started to arrive, one by one, so did many, many people. You had the Chinese, the sightseers, and then the protester scum. As I lined up for the "Samsung Free Community Breakfast", the queue was SO LONG - about half a footy field. A got this bread-egg-sausage-bacon thingy, and then lined up again for coffee (it was DARN COLD). It too was very long. As soon as I was 4th in line, a man came up and said, "sorry, we're out of coffee". (They really had shit food management. They probably didn't expect this many people to come. Check my photos - I snooped behind the tent, see all the eggs being prepared lol)

At 8:30AM, the torch lighting ceremony began. A Pro-Tibetan protester raised a banner (by attaching balloons to an anchored cloth banner) which read "FREE TIBET". This caused uproar within the crowd, some were yelling "TA MA DE", others "CAO NI MA!!!" (see video). When the Chinese National Anthem was played, everyone joined in singing. Their patriotic voices could have been heard miiles away.

Then, as the torch was lit, hordes of people ran to follow the torch. At this time, our little group of Narrabundah friends (there were gunna be others, ppl from Copland, and Cantos, but they all chickened out. Cunts.) managed to meet together within the massive crowd of Chinese (which was SO DAMN HARD, so many people). We followed the horde of a few thousand Chinese.

We ran from Reconciliation Place to the lakeside Docks. We were greeted with a hundred Chinese. Most of the people here were "family Chinese", unlike the hordes of youths and students at Reconciliation Place and around Northbourne, these people were here to watch the fun. Here, some cunt tried to write "FREE TIBET" on the sky with a shitty monoplane (sources indicate this was funded by Greens cunt Bob Brown. This guy should stick to Carbon Emissions and tree-hugging.) Here, the torch went by kayak along the lake. Here, we followed the crowd, running along and taking photos.

We then reached Commonwealth Bridge. The cops blocked off the bridge for some time. Near the ramp of the bridge, a small group of Pro-Tibetan supporters decided it would be a smart idea to protest in a place where they were outnumbered, surrounded and vulnerable. A massive crowd of red formed within seconds, surrounding them, with nowhere to go. A few brave comrades stole their flag and ripped it to pieces. (See [ link ] for close-up. Not by me, this one. In MY video, I could not get close, becuase there were too many people in the way, and Nokia-N95 does not have zoom.)

We went down the bridge underpass to get to the other side. Here, I saw a truck go by, with flags I immediately saw were Yellow, Blue and Red. I immediately assumed they were Tibetan, and yelled "FUCK YOU!!!" and then many others did the same. Turns out they were Samsung 2008 Olympic Partner flags. Whoops.

On the other side, we saw Peng Fei there. Then, a series of vehicles drove by, and the torch arrived. ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROAD, WHERE WE WERE BEFORE. NICE ONE, PEOPLES. I WAS FOLLOWING YOU.

As the torch left, the cops opened the bridge. A thousand Chinese crossing Commonwealth Bridge is a sight you don't see everyday. Here, you get the occasional Tibetan protester. We cussed and exchanged fowl language. Apparently, one Tibetan almost got thrown off the bridge.

Our group walked to, and down, Northbourne Avenue. Here, my phone began to run out of battery. (Memory wasn't a problem - about 850MB left! lol) We saw police motorcycles and undercover cop cars.

Today, the cops hired heaps of white rental vans from Avis, Thrifty and Hertz. These were used to move dozens of cops around the place. A couple of Hertz vans also carried the workers sent to set the barrier fences. (They looked like thugs lol). We saw a Seven News chopper near Civic, and a Nine News chopper around Dickson. (Apparently Ten News can't afford a chopper, lol. They use the MIX 106.5 chopper when they do the Sydney traffic on the 5pm news.)

Then, the torch came. A horde of Chinese followed the torch. We ran the way back to Commonwealth Park. On the way, our horde overran many Tibetan protesters (see my video). We were chanting "ONE CHINA!!!" and "Zhong Guo Jia You!!!" If you see the video, some old lady was yelling at us at the top of her voice. lol.

Occasionally, cars srove past waving Red flags. Cheering then ensued. Then came people running along with Tibetan flags. Cussing ensued.

We walked on Commonwealth Avenue. Not along. On. Yes, that's right. Today was the first day I've seen thousands of pedestrians WALKING on Commonwealth Avenue, which is usually VERY busy with traffic. And all these people were carrying red flags too.

We walked back to Commonwealth Park and Stage 88. There were lots of Chinese there. We found an encampment of Pro-Tibetan supporters, heavily surrounded and guarded by police. So damn biased - they protect THEM, but not US.

We didn't attend the concert, it was probably full of bogans. And dude, Shannon Noll. wtf. We had a quick drink at the National Library, and then left.

And during the afternoon, Civic interchange (and Civic itself) was full of people with red flags.

ONE CHINA!!!

EDIT: There is a BIG difference between a protester and a separatist. A protester is a white man holding a Tibetan flag, yelling, screaming and cussing at Chinese, a man ill-informed and stubborn. A separatist is a Tibetan man holding a Tibetan flag, yelling, screaming and cussing at Chinese, with the intent on separating the People's Republic of China. In total, about 30 "protesters" came, and 2 "separatists" came. That's right, only 2 Tibetans, and two or so dozens of ill-informed dumbass whiteys.

A LETTER FROM AN ORDINARY CHINESE

When we were seen as “Sick Men from East Asia”, we were called The
    Yellow Peril.
When we strive to get stronger, we are called The Threat.

When we closed our doors to the world, you forced them open with drugs
    and guns.
When we finally embraced Free Trade, you blame us for taking away your
    jobs.

When we were falling apart, you marched in your troops and robbed us
    blind.
When we put the broken pieces back together again, “Free Tibet” you
    screamed, it was an invasion!

So we tried Communism, you hated us for being Communists.
So we learned Capitalism, you hated us for being Capitalists.

When we had a billion people, you said “The planet is starving.”
So we tried to limit our population, you said it was Human Rights
    Abuse.

When we were poor, you think we are dogs.
When we loan you cash, you blame us for your debts.

When we build our industries, you blame us for global warming.
When we sell you goods you can afford, you blame us for dumping
    inferior products.

When we buy oil, you called that exploitation and assisting genocide.
When you fight for oil, you called that Liberation of its People.

When we were lost in chaos and rampage, you wanted Rule of Law for us.
When we uphold our law and order against violence, you called that
    Violating Human Rights.

When we were silent, you said we have NO FREE SPEECH.
When we are NOW silent no more, you say we are merely “BRAINWASHED”.

‘Why do you hate us so much?” We asked.
“No” You Answered, ‘We don’t hate you.”

Truth is we really don’t hate you either, but do you understand us?
“Or course we do” You said, “We have BBC, CNN and AFPs.”

So we ask you now “What do you really know………and….what do you want
    from us?”

And ‘Why do you find it SO hard to accept us?”
