"The obligation to endure gives us the right to know."

In Rachel Carson's "The obligation to endure.", she lets the reader know how the species of man

is constantly bombarding nature with our creations. She points out in the 3rd paragraph of her essay, that

nature handles its own chemicals and radiation over large periods of time. Nature balances its own

negative effects with its positive effects to produce a good enviorement. Early on in her essay she

mentions how "The most alarming of all man's assaults upon the environment is the contamination of air,

earth, rivers, and sea with dangeous and even lethal materials."
