I will not answer technical questions in shoutbox. The place to ask these types of questions are are in the main forum or guide section that I have written..

Those that ignore this will not get an answer and your entry will be deleted.

Hi Larry, I read your thread regarding wii system update (http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/500310) but I could not reply to the thread b/c "replying to old thread not allowed." I hope you don't mind if I ask the question here. I had exactly the same situation as you described: super paper mario game disc asks for a system update. you said that we should not update using the game disk, but rather through the INTERNET. My question is by updating through the internet, will it always update the system for the correct region? I suspect that my Wii is mod with region free wiikey. I bought the wii in the U.S. but mod it in Taiwan. I had no idea what they did to my Wii and I don't know what are the right questions to ask to find out. I would really appreciate your comment. Thanks.

  • STLfan (14 Jun 2008 10:52)

hey larry. i made the magic memory stick with a modded psp and then went to the pandora battery creator on the psp and it says the game could not be started. I enabled the 1.50 kernel and I am running the 3.71M33-4 cfw. I also lost your page that gave a step by step on how to create pandora's battery. I made the magic memory stick off your page and then like a dummy, closed out the webpage. Now I can't find it under your information. Thanks for your help.

  • boat101 (15 Jun 2008 3:34)

sup larry i looked at ur guide. It is really hard is there another way of putting Firmwire into psp??

  • llcooldl (17 Jun 2008 8:48)

    Hey Larry,

Any chance you can reply to my post in teh wii forum, it concerns bricking and I fuond your post which was very informative but hasn't removed my fears.

I have just purchased a brand new wii D2C2 and have a D2CPro 9 wire clip mod chip I'm yet to put it in as a mate tells me there are hundreds of posts saying that it will brick my wii instantly. I can't find any such posts. I'm still not entirely sure the best way to keep your wii updated. Can I just use the wincconect 24 to upfate my machine or do I have to make sure I only update using region matching games? Seeing as all these are backups how do I know if they are PAL region games? What about the ones that are forged PAL?

Currently very confused and the organisation of the forums is rubbish cos of so many people hijacking threads it's impossible to know where you will actually find helpful information!

    Thanks
    LLCoolDL

Laddies Love Cool Dr Larry ;)

  • ABuSD (18 Jul 2008 9:07)

Hey larry, i just joined this site to say thank you for posting up the guide and file links on the Universal Unbricker V3. Because of it I have FINALLY flashed CFW to a OFC fatty, upgraded a CFW fatty, unbricked a white fatty and tomorrow i will do my first slim, a FF7 Silver(OFW 3.95, thats safe to hack isnt it?!?).

BTW: 401.PBP is missing in \PSP\GAME\MUX20\UPDATE_7 but u can just copy it from UPDATE_6 folder and it works fine, dunno if it still works ok without adding it, just thought id let you know.
Once again thank you sooo much!!!! I have been looking for the right tools for about 2 months!!!!! I was beginning to give up!!
