You can watch unprotected HD content such as downloads using any method (VGA, DVI, DVI-HDMI, VGA-Component). However, you will only be able to watch protected HD (BluRay, HD-DVD) with HDCP supported links, that is a straight DVI cable if the monitor supports it (it should) or failing that, DVI to HDMI. The monitor *should* see HDCP through a plain DVI-D cable though, so using the monitor as a TV shouldn't be a problem if you don't have an HDMI cable.

hey Knivez, regarding mixing RAM, whilst it can work, it's highly recommended to use the same stuff you had before to avoid stability problems.

Fair enough, perhaps it only works with nvidia cards... In any case, 70ish for a GPU is fine, they can run in the 90s without incident.

Suprised though I am that speedfan detects your GPU (I'm pretty certain it only does CPU, Motherboard and hard disks) it's normal for a graphics card. If that's your CPU temp though you should probably be worried.
