Took a while to get traffic routed from remote OpenVPN clients to LAN at the OpenVPN server end. Here's the network setup: Remote office: Router: 10.1.1.250 / 255.255.255.0 OpenVPN ...

  • Power consumption of common home electronics devices (19 Nov 2007 12:37)

I took the time to measure the energy consumption (i.e. Wattage) of some of my home electronics devices. Here are some (non scientific) results: Devices tested: Consoles: Xbox 360 (w/ HD ...

Laitetaan lontooksi niin muutkin kuin suomalaiset ymmärtää.
4GB SSD in EEEpc 701 is not big, so additional integrated 16GB USB-memory is good thing. And if that's not enough, SD card slot is still empty and so is the other mPCIe-connector (there was no connector itself, so I soldered one) so expanding storage space is easy.
Also having a BT in EEEpc is vital and I didn't want to use bt-adapter plugged outside the laptop, so I decided to integrate one inside. Now it's easy to use cell phone as a modem or as a bluetooth-GPS-receiver (Nokia models with integrated GPS, with help of ExtGPS-software in phone). I don't know, what these addons do to the battery duration. I didn't do before/after measurements. Either way, this original 4400mAh battery is quite insufficient. I'm planning to order a bigger battery, maybe a 7800mAh.
