Still playing Diablo II LoD

There is no question about it, hell is hell. In the desert realm reaching outwards from Lut Gholein, I'm getting bored to death levelling up my Bowazon (currently lvl 71). Oh, there are few enemies that give me trouble but the ones that do often end up killing the Amazon. I'm talking, of course, about those unique/special monsters that have multiple immunities, auras and/or enchantments. Still, with the summon Valkyria, I can usually manage those fights ok.

All hell breaks loose when there are two or sometimes even three of those über monsters and their minions lurking near an entrance to a new place (underground crypts etc.). If I get lucky, the leaders target the Valkyria, leaving the Amazon free to freeze and kill the minions off first; if I don't, the next thing I'll be looking at is the death notification. I have backup gear but considering the close space conditions, that may not always be enough.

Now I've also found an enemy that is almost impossible to defeat. Unique Sand/Rock Maggots. As they cannot be frozen, they can burrow into the sand and regenerate at their leasure. It's a vicious cycle, as the moment I think I've got them, they "submerge". Killing one requires one hellish amount of bolts and super mana potions.

Which brings me back to levelling the Amazon up. It's all for making those fights a bit easier. Still boring, but necessary.

Btw, I wonder if anyone else is still playing this game or am I enjoying a forgotten gem.

  Your enjoying a forgotten gem lol I played that from like 03-06 then I played on d2pk the version where its like open battle net but ppl can still duel I still got the game just no urge to play it good game tho but Im bout to go to the military and I got a son now and that game just takes time I dont have or wanna use lol I lost my urge for that game when they made my damn town tele,and charge hack not work and when every1 caught on that ppl send trojans through e-mail I had 1 specially made that looked like a maphack my friend made n e wayz do baal runs to lvl up when u hit like 60 or 65 Im pretty sure and get G Rushed thats fastest ;)
