  Hi, u kindly helped there in Dec to set up my eurovox and it's be perfect since, only in the last few weeks has it caused a bit of bother...please wait code being updated keeps appearing for ages and today it's just staying up...I've done what you told me back in dec 2 do and all the channels are on the menu but only rte 2 and tv3 actually work...not sure if it's a problem with all eurovox boxes or just mine...

  hello karljd, what i ment by saveing one page at a time . when i enter the new codes on the first line , after 00 , i put in the first 8 new numbers, and save them , then i enter the next 8 numbers after 01, and save them ,or do i just enter all of the 16 numbers and save them just once? ps , i could not open the link you sent , and thanks for your help ,, finmccool

  hi, thanks for the codes it has worked for my friends and family. I still have a problem it will not let me do an auto scan and only one channel appears. After i have entered the codes and exit back to the main screen it says channel not currently available. Is there a solution or is the box no longer any good.

  just joined as i tried the instructions supplied by yourself and they work fine so will keep in touch with you on the forum as it took me ages to find an honest answer.
  i would like to know if there is a difference in inputting codes manually and connecting via serial cable to pc.will my eurovox continue to update itself or do i have to keep inputting new codes.so do i upload new firmware to save doing this.

  When u said this is how 2 identify if a clone or original...
  
  18 vents = clone
  25 vents = genuine
  13 vents = 1st generation
  
  vents are the slits on the top of the box from top to bottom
  
  left scart = Clone
  Right scart= Genuine
  
  Do you mean its geniune if the scart is on the right lookin at the box from the front or the back..?
  and if it has...13 vents = 1st generation does this still mean it is a genuine box..?

  Finally figured out the correct codes as I thought NTL were now Chorus and was putting in the Chorus codes. Just got a chance to re enter them today and they are all back working fine! So delighted Thank you again Karljd for your valued input!!

  karljd, you're doing a great job, and in some cases thankless. I would love to not have to hassle anyone for the codes but unfortunately I only have access to an Apple Mac and can't install the firmware. Do you know if there is an alternative download for OSX. I've exhausted my own search and fear it's in vain. Thanks again for all your help. Mark.

  I'm really new to this sort of thing, being a 66 year old pensioner, i purchased a PC 7 months ago now, and i'm really enjoying learning new things, got in to this site through a friends son, who put me onto the Eurovox, and it was great, but as everone knows, they have started to do things, i inputted the codes on the 17th April and everything came up roses, and grateful i was too, switched on the telly this morning, and, its again saying, Please wait, code being updated. Do we have to put these codes in daily? if so, where do i go to get them.

  are you scanning on ntl emo1965,and make sure your coaxil is plugged into the cable input on the box also make sure your scart is pushed firmly into the tv scart on the box and not the vcr.

  hi mate see your a senior member, new on here and to these starview boxes. my mate tried to flash my starview 1 box so it can find codes automatically but all it does now is that i switch it on get the green dashes then as soon as it says on it shuts down! he doesn't know y it has done this. have you any ideas if it can be fixed? thanks

  got few probs with my EV PVR box, tried few things, cant really get anywhere.
  
  First connected cable to EV and EV to TV by scart, then switched on, on the remote tried all the three symbol rates, none gave me any channels, tried power scan, no use..
  
  Then thought of flashing it before scanning, tried connecting the USB and the Null modem cable, put in the small CD, the driver should automatically install, but dont know why in my computer it is not working that way, i have XP SP2, then connected USB cable switched the box on, get the message USB device not recognised. Tried getting the driver opened.. no use again..i feel im in right bloody mess..hope u can help me out..

  Howdy Karl,
  Can I have your thoughts on the following as you are good at this... I have a st*rview 1 (not a clone) on N*L and was losing UTV, MTV etc, so I went for a reset as follows... MenuFac Setcode 1668OKturn off for minpress OK to Languageselect englishselect CCauto scanexit to menu press 1570 EMU ON exit, exit, exit.
  Problem is it won't go back to the channel list and stays on Language menu. I have so far repeated the above proceedure 5 times, switch box on and off, tried same with 0000 etc, it will go through all the motions, but all ends up at the end with the language menu on the screen. Can you help?

  I recently bought a EV PVR X5000 and then bought a seagate 120Gb 2.5 HD from IwantaB0x and just wondered would you be kind enough to help me in installing the HD?
  
  I have slotted in the HD in the slot behind the front cover but it doesn't seemed to be read by EV.
  
  Do i need to install a new firmware / Format the HD?
