    you dont suffer fools kindly?

  • Auslander (18 Feb 2006 6:34)

cuz fools don't deserve to be sufferd kindly...i pity da foo that thinks otherwise

  • MaxBurn (28 Feb 2006 8:47)

Id better leave, as crazy is related to a fool i think?? suffer fools kindly? isnt that another word for marriage?? LOL dont mind me, i laugh at nothing all the time..
    @rav009
Your like that KILLROY was here thing.. Hes everywhere i tell ya..

  • MaxBurn (02 Mar 2006 13:48)

    garmoon,
I was stationed in Shreveport LA once along with mississippi also, and i lived in Texas for too long, so i know what you mean about the south speaking a whole nuter language :)

  • Syphon (07 Mar 2006 19:28)

You could use the $ sticks respectively, as long as it's in dual channel.i.e

    Slot 1 - 128
    Slot 2 - 256
    Slot 3 - 128
    Slot 4 - 256

or they should be 2 different colours(light color and dark color)both of the same sticks should be in 1 colour and the other in the 2nd colour.

  • garmoon (16 Mar 2006 16:53)

I got the sticks today. Will install this weekend, Thanks

  • garmoon (17 Mar 2006 8:53)

Actually Syphon the sticks have to be matched pairs. 128 and 128 in slots 1-2 and 256 and 256 in slots 3 - 4. Dells says the originals must be used together and the new ones together. I went with the 128s instead. 512 ought to be fine since I was having no trouble burning.

  • MaxBurn (19 Mar 2006 2:37)

Garmoon, I think what happens when you don't pair the memory correctly is you go down to single channel memory path instead of dual channel when the slots are paired correctly. So, you still have the same total memory, but the paired configuration allows two paths/ areas for the CPU/programs to use when using DDR (dual dynamic read if i remember my acronyms correctly) memory. Whatever way the manual for the motherboard says to configure the memory sticks/slots, thats the way i set them up. I tried a non-matched configuration once until i could afford to get the correct memory set-up, and it burned DVDs fine before and after the switch. I didnt notice a big speed increase, or program response time by setting it correctly, but it probably helped in some way.

  • garmoon (19 Mar 2006 7:52)

Unfortunately They sent the wrong memory. During boot, windows told me I needed faster memory and what i had was incompatible. They sent 800 -45ns and specs call for 800-40ns. I assume 40ns is faster than45ns. What in pc now is 800-40ns. I have no idea in hell what 40ns is? (ns? nanoseconds?) Will return them and get the right sticks I hope.

  • MaxBurn (19 Mar 2006 16:58)

Yeah buddy it can get very confusing very quickly when we deal with computers, and what makes them tick. Used to be if your specs called for 40ns and you got 45ns then it would work. Now, i dont even try to follow it. Nano-seconds. Like nano-meters, only this one is a time measurement (fraction of a second, but im not going to misquote it here, and im too lazy to look it up right now), or the speed of the memory. Ive got a closet full of old motherboards/computer parts, and memory, that will only work with each type, newer stuff isnt that backwards compatible. :) Most ppl call that junk, maybe its history, ancient history..

  • Lethal_B (17 Apr 2006 11:18)

garmoon - PMSL = peeing myself laughing ;-)

  • Lethal_B (24 Apr 2006 13:57)

idk mate, if yall have a decent running game this year then we will be in trouble, but our secondary is really good. Not many will be able to thrown on AU.

  • Enlil3391 (21 Aug 2006 8:44)

    Hi gar
have u tried Disney DVD Movies like Chicken Little and The Pink Panther? I have decrypted these but when I tried to SHRINK it with DVD Shrink3.2, get error messages all the time. Can u help? tnx
    Enlil3391 (jkndbx595@yahoo.com)

  • MaxBurn (27 Aug 2006 14:02)

Hi buddy, just thought i would throw something in your shoutbox. :)

@Enlil3391 you should try RipIt4Me. It uses PSL or protected sector list mode in Decrypter to handle all the latest stuff without AnyDVD or DVD43 help. It uses FixVTS which is kind of like VOB blanker without all the options. Using that method, you can still use decrypter and shrink without getting the error messages on any new movies. The only thing that has stopped me from copying a disc is scratches.

  • LOCOENG (29 Aug 2006 16:34)

Hey man, dont fret about the links in your post, I was only teasing...use them all you want, I don't deserve any credit for those guides.

  • JVC (18 Sep 2006 21:02)

Glad you got a laugh from it. I get so tired of people trying to push bad media off on us, and saying it's great media! Like that guy that loves Memorex so much. If he reads at all, at the forums, he knows that 95% of us don't like it and won't use it, and he still tries to talk us into using it. I've not seen or heard about a burner yet, that works very well with Memorex. If he likes it.........good! They need to sell some to somebody.

  • Joshewah (19 Sep 2006 7:22)

Thanks for the pat on the back garmoon, sometimes I could probably use a kick in the ass though lol.

  • rav009 (24 Sep 2006 3:19)

    Hi there buddy :-)

  • MaxBurn (08 Oct 2006 14:56)

    Hey buddy, hows it going?
Me, im chilln, trying to stay out of trouble. :)

  • rav009 (18 Oct 2006 10:08)

    Hey Garmoon :-)

Yeh, If they warned me I would've removed it, but it was actually strike two, I has a over sized sig a long while back, a mod warned me & I took it off, so I guess it was all fair this time around.

  • MaxBurn (04 Nov 2006 14:36)

I got warned about my animated ak cat sig, and was told by a mod to remove it, or make it fit the size requirements. I guess im a rule breaker by nature, but i stopped the animation on mine. It wasnt hurting anything, but was breaking a rule... Also, a while back in the forums these so called "scientist" types kept insisting CMC media was fine quality media, and it was bad firmware writing that caused these things to fail, not the media. Come on, were not that stupid, no matter how much sugar you put on a shit sandwich, its still shit. Not going to go down well. So that kind of got me tired of working for free and getting shot down by someone who was not helping the situation, just starting arguments. I got burnt out, and havent really recovered completely. At that time this place was going wild with flame wars, and just general disruptive behaviour being allowed to go on. At the same time my life in general took a downturn, for reasons not related to AD. So i stopped visiting AD as much as i used to, and tried to get my own life straightened out. I needed to troubleshoot the Nero log of my life.

Anyway, sorry to rant on in your shoutbox, but what better place to put a rant?
    Take it easy buddy. :)

Ill spark up an old herbal remedy, good for whatever ails you. :)

  • garmoon (08 Jan 2007 3:05)

    Get DVD Decrypter here:
    link ]

  • MaxBurn (15 Feb 2007 11:32)

    Hey Garmoon,
I just worked on a Nero log, first one in many months. Things have been going on in my life that have taken me away from AD for a while. General life loss and tragedy that everyone goes thru. Slaying dragons takes time. I bet a heat seaking missle would work well agains airborne dragons. Get them right in the mouth if they try that flame breath crap. :)

  • gamerjim (19 Mar 2007 15:08)

Hey garmoon, Thanx for the welcome. Your just as old as you feel. Some days are alot better than others. Take care my friend!

  • Ripper (05 Apr 2007 2:27)

    Hey garmoon, thanks. :)

My post count is a worrying 4129! :O
However, I do tend to post a lot in the safety valve, so that's made up for by my otherwise quality posts everywhere else :)

When I first joined, I lurked for about 2 months and then got myself involved in helping people out (I came here to learn and found myself being drawn into answering the odd question, and look where I am now!) and spent a lot of time doing so.. My posting has taken a rapid decline as of recent due to being busy though. However, I think my Addict status was earned - unlike certain console addicts (lol). To be honest, my rank on the forum doesn't really bother me either way - Addict or otherwise. Anyhow, I'm sure you'll get it soon; it's much deserved in your case.

    :-)

  • Ripper (07 Apr 2007 2:18)

    Grats on Addict garmoon :-D

  • Ripper (13 Apr 2007 5:31)

  • rhuffer (30 Jan 2008 11:21)

  • billybob (15 Feb 2008 10:16)

hey dude. I come here occasionally...i hate to say it, but only really when i need help nowadays.

Ireland and gerry leaving were the final straw...after people like permiggs, rav009, brobear, maxburn etc leaving.

Place is kinda...empty now. Not to happy about the "powers that be" either mate.

Hope your well dude? I might check the forums out a bit more see if things have progressed, could be interesting.
Glad to see one decent guy (yourself) is still going strong.

Get back to me, take care :D
    billy.

  • varnull (21 Feb 2008 18:25)

Small world isn't it?? Like ufo stuff?? [ link ]

  • varnull (24 Feb 2008 10:56)

I saw a daylight UFO back in 1982.. silver disk over a town centre..

  • varnull (27 Feb 2008 3:24)

Nah.. it's wasn't a space station.. It was a silver disk, with details on a clear sunny afternoon. It floated around for a good 5 minutes and then went silently straight up into a clear blue sky.. You could see the aircraft leaving trails in the stratosphere.. it just went up and up till it vanished.. the assumption has to be (seen with my own eyes) that it left the atmosphere.
I was waiting for a bus on my way home from work.. 5pm at a bus stop and at least 40 other people all saw it. I don't know what it was, but it wasn't anything that could be anything else.. a classic flying saucer, and something I will never forget.

  • varnull (20 Apr 2008 3:53)

Thanks for the feedback.. It's good to hear your mom is in fine fettle. Same age as my neighbour. He's bright as a button too.

  • goodswipe (23 Apr 2008 14:26)

My Grandpa use to be a big wig up at Valero. My other Grandpa worked in the oil fields for Exxon back in the 40's. My cousin works on an off-shore oil rig for Pioneer Drilling Co. So yea, I know all about the oil industry.

**and that oil is supporting terrorism especially Saudia Arabia.**

Yea, I guess if the Prince is giving money to terrorist, then you are correct. That issue is a pretty touchy subject.

**Not until people stop driving gas guzzlers will the problem be solved**

I agree with you there, but to really solve the problem we need to come up with more alternative fuels. If we continue to rely on foreign countries for our fuel, we will never get anywhere.

It seems pretty drastic, but a friend and I were discussing this the other day. What needs to be done, until they can solve the fuel problem, is impose some tax on people that drive these ridiculous gas guzzling trucks, when they don't even need them for what they intended for. Or maybe they should be required to carry a permit and to get that permit, they will need to actually show proof that you need this 7 liter engine for everyday use.

    What are your thoughts?

I see you are from LA. I was born in Port Arthur. Traveled from Houston, Baytown, Beaumont, and Baton Rouge while visiting my family when I was younger.

Oh yea, my sarcastic remark about piracy and terrorism was just poking fun at how the government uses terrorism as a scape goat for everything.

  • goodswipe (16 May 2008 10:39)

LMFAO! So true, I don't think they are ever going to finish that shit, especially that part of I-10 from Winnie to Baytown.

    I got bored at 300

  • goodswipe (02 Jul 2008 10:48)

    Y0, I answered your question on the q & a thread.

  • goodswipe (03 Jul 2008 10:46)

Sounds good to me man. I live in Austin, but I have family in Beaumont and Port Arthur, so I've come that way before. My Grand Parents live on the lake as well, can't remember the neighborhood they live in, but there is a big lighthouse as you enter the community.
