yay! good things.

My car is back from the shop.
It's 81 degrees going up to 89 today without the kind of sucky humidity other places have.
I got an A in my first class of my master's program.
I've been invited to a Halloween party tonight.
I filled another couple of bags with clothes that are hopelessly too big.
I have the best personal trainer, he kicks ass! (giggle)
The most awesome music is playing on my speakers.
Another almost perfect day in LA. (Now where did that trainer go?)

ok today officially sucked (bad language warning)

I woke up and it was entirely too quiet and empty and then it got worse. Work was ok, I guess, if you can handle the sadness of working with special ed kids who are in their early teens and barely at a preschool level and way less verbally adept. Then I made my way home and was about to park my car when something went wrong with my gearshifter (perhaps a cable broken or come apart from its holder since the cover for that area broke a few days ago?) Whatever it is, I can put the car in park, reverse and neutral but not into drive, second or low gears. I had to drive it backwards all the way out of the parking lot and onto the street and park it there for the tow truck since it won't go forwards.I had my car towed to the shop and they'll try to take it apart and start fixing it tomorrow. So I finally got a ride home now. Today officially sucks balls.

Watch these videos. Congress is trying to sneak legislation through that would pardon Bush and his cronies for any possible war crimes related to torture of detainees going all the way back to Sept. 11th. When the Supreme Court ruled that the Geneva conventions applied to Al Quaeda and Taliban detainees, the Bushies decided they were in trouble. You may be thinking so what if they torture a few terrorists? but the reality is that a lot of innocent people have been detained and tortured. See the second video for more on that story.
