    No worries Sam.
I have been busy lately with one thing and another,so haven't had much time for the pc.
Hopefully I'll get back soon and catch up with what's happening at AD.
    Take care,
    Regards,Steve.
(Congrats on being the first one to post in my shoutbox!!LOL!!)

Hey crowy thanks for correcting my blunder... :)

No worries GM.If I hadn't ever seen a 775 socket cpu,I would have posted the same thing. What I do know,is the motherboard socket can get damaged from an incorrect cpu install. There are 775 little twisty contacts on the motherboard socket.A friend of mine used conductive pen to short out some contacts on his pentium D to get a vcore increase on a not so overclockable motherboard. However, when he reseated the cpu in it's socket,he damaged the contacts on the motherboard socket and 2 of them were touching each other. The result was a cpu running at stock speed(surprisingly it would still boot)but the cpu temp was 67 degrees and he's using a freezer 7 pro!!.On closer examination with a magnifying glass,he noticed the 2 shorted contacts and fortunately was able to seperate them with a pin.The pc is is still ok and the temps have dropped by 47 degrees!!!
    Regards Crowy

Actually posted this in your shoutbox then realized my blunder!!!ROFL!!!

Hey Crowy, how you been? Good to hear from you. I'm sorry about missing the AMD Athlon overclocking post. I just copied it and saved it for future reference! I'm still somewhat puzzled because I've never had an Athlon 3700. I had a 4000+ on a Biostar MB, but that's the only AMD I've built in years. I'm going to see if I can overclock a Sempron 3600+ and see what it can take. Nobody wants the CPU anyway so I figure I would push it hard and see if it blows up! I'm doubly surprised no one wants it because it's Socket AM2. Your post will be very helpful as I now understand what the hell they are talking about with all this different stuff! LOL!!

Oi.. I'm looking for a DFI mobo that will either fit an E6850 or Q6600.... I have a GB P35-DS3P which will house one of the two so any ideas would be great. :) I've been looking at this one. linky

hope all is well mate.... about summer time you're part of the world innit?? ;)
