did you have to copy the game on to a new dvd or were you able to run the original

Which post? Can you link me to it? For PS2 game backup, you need to have a way to boot backups such as Swap Magic or Cogswap, which is essentially the free version of Swap Magic. To run Cogswap, you need to have a softmodded PS2. As to my knowledge, backup PS1 games do not run on the PS2 correctly. The best backup option for the PS2 is the hard drive. You can load games on to that and directly play it and there is a very high compatibility.
For leaving games unpatched, that was for when I put it on the hard drive if I remember correctly.

its a russian site, but just copy and paste those two rapidshare links into a folder, then extract the first one and you should have the ISO, then just burn that in DVD Decrypt at 2x, then your set.
that is exactly what i did.
it may take a bit longer downloading since you are not a rapidshare member. no biggie.
