Explanation of my Article answering

22 Apr 2008 6:27 (Edited: 22 Apr 2008 6:27)

To All,

I am going to try and explain this as best as i can. I am going through the articles from where i left off and yes i am behind in my reading and i am trying to catch up but i like to do things in order. So hence this is why i post on older threads however i do not find it as old because my life is become more busy with other things that i do not get a chance as i once did to answer on a daily basis and be up to date with the articles.

I do this as i feel i am still trying to be a part of the AfterDawn Website and this is a way i feel i can contribute atm. I do not have a chance to go into the forum rooms anymore as to time restraints due to my work so too keep myself up to date as far as what is new in the world of Tech is i read the articles one by one and reply to each and everyone of them.

If what i am doing is against forum rules then please let me know and i will stop it and that will be that.

I do not mean to be a pain by posting to older news but i like to read things in order. If the news is old i ask you this why would you keep yourselves still subscribed to it?? (my 2cents)

Thanks for taking the time to read my explination and understanding my situation.

Borhan

First of all if you are of the pedantic nature and like to do things in order, I would appreciate the same care being taken when you spell my nickname. It's Ryu77 not Rhy77. It is the Japanese word for Dragon and as much as some like to pronounce it as Rhy-u, the correct pronunciation is nothing like that.

Of course what you are doing is not against forum rules. However, I would like to comment on some of the points you have made here. You said that you like to keep up to date as to what is new in the World of tech, but doesn't that kind of illustrate my point? The word news means what is new, as in current, as in today!

I really don't think that your point is valid because everytime I see you commenting on news it is always within the 4 - 8 week old bracket. If what you are saying is true, then wouldn't it be fair to calculate that as time went on you would become progressively become further behind in the news? I would think that eventually you would become months and then one day even years behind.

Another point is, I can appreciate the notion on wanting to catch up on news and wanting to read some older articles but why do you feel the need to make such a short comment? Sometimes I even see you making comments that would indicate that you have completely missed what is actually happening today or has already happened! Like recently when you said let's just wait and see what happens with HD-DVD. When the HD-DVD promotional group was liquidated, the news was everywhere. How could you have missed it? Is it that you like to have the last say on things? Why don't I see you commenting on current discussions? You are more than welcome there.

I don't mean to be too harsh and in all honesty I don't understand your situation. I am also working 7 days a week now and I still wouldn't see the need to consistently comment on old news articles. As for keeping myself subscribed to news threads, I am not going to go back and unsubscribe from every dated thread. In the usual fashion they would just progress further down my list. Also, someone might actually contribute something worth reading about. Some current events may provide insight to something that was discussed previously. In that situation of course I would be interested to read what was posted.
