My Nokia N95 Adventure

07 Jan 2009 22:16 (Edited: 07 Jan 2009 22:16)

For the past year oor just less than really. I got a nokia N95 mid of 08 and it was working fine for a few months till it started to play up like really bad reception and turning off in the middle of a call or just randomly turning off and soo on and i really was peeved at this kinda thing.

I will tell you this much i will be thinking twice before i purchase another nokia product from now on. What was worse than this was the process i had too go through to fix my phone.

First i thought that i could fix the problem soo i installed the software for the phone that made no difference whatsoever. So i told my mum about this she told me to go to optus which is my phone carrier and get them to fix it.

Soo i go there and i tell them about my problem and the nutter across the counter tells me if we take it we will have it for a few weeks and so on and we do not have a courtesy phone available for you. I was like then what do you recommend he was like there is a nokia service centre in another suburb and i was like ok. Soo i took the nutters advice and headed towards the nokia service centre which is further away for me and on top of this my disability was playing up really bad and i was not in the mood for crapp from anyone.

Soo i go there and it was a nice place and i take my ticket and wait to be called after about 10mins i get called and i go up to this Indian lady very preety anyway i explain to her whats going on with my phone and she logs it all in the computer and then i tell her i need a courtesy phone because of my work and she was like thats ok it will cost you $A150 for the phone and i was like what do u mean my phone is under warranty how come i have to pay for the courtesy phone she rambles about something and im like ok after she explains and im like do you have EFTPOS soo i can pay shes like no and this is a high service centre place soo you would think that they can afford to put eftpos in the centre. Soo again me and my disability at the time has to leave the place and go get money from an atm which is about a ten minute walk to the shoppin centre. Soo i go there and get the money and get back get another ticket and wait once again :( at this time i was not very happy as u can imagine.

Soo to make me feel better NOT!! i go to the same lady again for my turn and she was like can u tell me whats wrong with the phone again i forgot :( I was not happy but did not say anything soo i went through it again and then she went and found this phone that worked great but it was very old and not the greatest looking phone nor was it the damage free that you would think they would give you. Soo she put my stuff in the courtesy phone and that was that she told me when your phone is ready we will sms you and u can come pick it up soo i go home and to test my new phone they gave me while i wait for my phone to be repaired. i rang my cuz to test to see if it was the phone or was it my reception via my optus phone carrier and it was crystal clear with the phone they gave me soo i knew it was a fault with my phone soo i just waited to be contacted to get my phone back all repaired and get ready for work. Soo the next day i get an sms around midday stating its all better now and ready for you to pick it up soo i get my stuff together and go and pick up my stuff soo i go there and pick it up smiling with glee cause i want my phone and it working like new.

Soo i go there we do the exchange i test my phone and it works great soo i just carry on using it and then the next day guess what it started again all the turning off rebooting really bad reception and everything was wrong again and i was mad once more.

Soo mum comes home and i tell her whats going on and shes like go to the optus shop and tell them and by this time i dont remember who the guy was that advised me to go to the nokia service centre. Soo i go there anyway and i see this guy and i explain that i was here awhile ago with my phone and it was crashing and he inturupts and says ya the nokia N95 soo i was like great to myself this was the guy who advised me soo i let him have it of sorts and i said. "I Took your advice and took my phone to the nokia service centre and it still crashing" i also had taken all my paper work including what so called repairs the nokia place had done soo he photo copied it all and still said we dont have a courtesy phone im like mate im not very happy its not working and i need a phone for work and i have a disability etc.. so his faced drooped like a sad puppy. I had to make him understand that when u have to work u have to put your effort in.

Soo anyways i did not get a courtesy phone but i did tell him that if this phone can not be repaired i am telling you i will want to choose a brand new phone of my choice. He went on a speal how they dont do that but he can give me a number for a place i can call to get that service if it comes to that. Soo i said fine took my paper work old and new and off i went with only my memory card and sim card. My sis had an old phone i ended up using a motorolla phone for a week before they called me and told me my phone is ready to be picked up.

Soo eager again to pick this phone up i was off like The Flash to pick up the phoe i go there and get the same guy to deal with me and he took my paper work and went and found my phone and he told me and showed me on the paper that nokia ended up giving me the same model phone the Nokia N95 but this time it is a brand new handset all together soo i was happy but before i left i tested the phone turned it off and on again and it had a delay but it did not crash it went into the OS and then to test that it wont turn off i went to my contacts and transfered them across to my phone book and the whole 292 contacts transfered overi was very happy soo it was not crashing i was really happy soo when i saw that it was all good i said thanxs to the guy and left.

But just recently on the 31's December i tried to send my cousin an sms it was not gonig through and i was not happy again sii i quickly called optus this time and spoke to a young lady and explained my quandry and she helped me out with no probs fixed it i was missing a message centre number which i put in and it worked again soo now i have a fully functioning phone.

Soo if your thinking about purchasing a Nokia N95 or any other Nokia product i recommend you think more than even twice on the choice you make.
