Movie Review: Transformers

Last night I went with Wifey to the movies again with wifey and a friend we went to the drive in. I cant blog about the nights activities so this is mainly about the review of the movie. The only thing i will say is it was fun had by all :)

Well the movie started and it was with a young kids at high school wanting to get an A on his last presentation so that he can get his dad to get him a car. Anyhoo he gets the A- and then goes to the second hand car dealer which was Berni Mac. Which the kid finds this yellow car that is basically a transformer and a good sided transformer.

So the guy goes with his best friend go to a party in a park with the car and likes this girl and well shes ok looking nothing special.

Basically the movie is a bit long winded very blokey and definetly does not interest girls unless their technically minded. I even found it very hard to follow and really boring in parts. I felt that the cast was a big cast but the movie script and story line was severely pathetic. Just basically one hot girl for the sexy factor and one aussie blonde that was a bit of a smarty pants helping the US Government to save the day and a lot of blokes in the army blowing shit up and robots transformers for the geeks in the audience.

Basically the whole story was the megatron side which is bad VS the good side i cant remember the name of them.

Ok well i dont want to go further into this crap movie just to say you have to be a die hard fan to actually like this film. I rather watch Pride and Predjuduce which was what my Sis and mum were watching at home when i got back after the movies.

This Tuesday maybe go and see Shrek 3 finally but not sure yet.

All in all a disappointment

I Got My Certificate II in I.T

Earlier this week i went to my TAFE college to find out when i will be getting my Certificate for completing my I.T course. I went there and found out that they had already sent out the certificates by mail. So hence when i have been moving recently it takes longer for the mail to be redirected to the new address but the funny thing was the day after i got it in the mail. :)

I had been waiting for weeks for this and when i was at the TAFE i bumped into one of my teachers thanked him and gave him some chocolates for his help etc... He told me it was a pleasure and if more of his students were like me he would just sit there and do nothing.

So anyway i got home and the following day it came in the mail. What the best part was the fact i got it and i had passed the course at a Distinction Level.

So this gives me more facts for my dad to help me initiate my Computer Business.

Well I thought this needed to blog it soo ya i have finished my course and when i move i may also think about extending my computer qualification.

Movie Review: Blades of Glory

This afternoon i went out with a high school buddy of mine before i go to qld we went to the movies and saw Blades of Glory well the main reason was i had to be back before 5 or 5:30ish.

I am not a big fan of Will Farrell movies but i gave this a go with my buddy. It was actually better than i thought. Had some parts in the start i was like thats childish. Then it slowly grows on you.

It went for 90mins and was a movie that you go and watch and not think about anything.

It had moment you say thats crapp and then theres parts you cack yourself all up. It sorta reminded me of Zoolander. Had the same feeling but was funny. I would say its not much of a movies film but watch it on DVD.

All in all Fun for all. Could be a date movie depending on your partner and it is appealing for same gender couples thats my opinion.

Movie Review: Music & Lyrics

Today is Sunday and mum and I were bored and we decided to watch a DVD. Mum wanted a chick flick and shes a fan of Hugh Grant. So I went down the video store and rented the new movie.

It started with a 80's catchy song with Hugh Grant singing in a two person Boy band and i have to say the music video for the song was catchy.

Then we get started with the story on how he is a has been star and is living day by day on his past success. Well I have to say the movie is like the has been music video in a few years people will forget about this crap.

Every part of this movie was agony for me. Girls if you want to punish your partner make him sit through this B grade movie and he will not do anything bad again.

There was no chemistry with both Hugh or Drew on screen or even in the bloopers and i felt it was a wast of $6 and the time i spent sitting waiting for a scene that can make me laugh. Sorry to say there was none.

I can not believe producers or even the music studios gave it the go ahead. Shameful.

I sat through the deleted scenes and even there was a lot of those which amazes me on how they could cut soo much as we knew it was crap and they still made a movie out of this.

Ok well enough with this review its giving me a headache even writing about this.

Dont rent it or buy it or even burn it.

Moving Pt2

Finally on Thursday two weeks ago we moved to mum's new place. We were supposed to move on the Wednesday nut the first removal's we got came in the afternoons and were too sissy boys and my mum likes to put it built like twigs and they said they couldn't do this and they were half drunk also they were like we cant do this we have to hit the road soon blah blah etc... so after about 5minutes of them checking what needed to be taken then i said if you can not do this then hit the road. :P

So after that mum called these other guys that came on Thursday @8am and moved everything by 4pm in the afternoon. and mum gave them $A600 thats including tip and everything was moved in.

This was the first time i saw the new place it is smaller and a lot colder and it does not have an elevator like the other place but not too many stairs either but i am moving soo as long as mum is happy with it its all good to me :)

So when we moved we expected the phone lines to be connected and everything because we had called the phone company which is also our isp and said why is the phone not connected and that was the start of a nine day ordeal with Telstra the Govt run phone company. On the 8th day it took mum to complain to a government body for them to take some action and come the next day to fix the phone line. Hence i was not happy with there service nor was my mum.

When the technician came it took him 15mins to do the job so we had to wait over a week to get a 15min job done. Shame on you Telstra.

After we had it up and running it took me about an hour to get all the connections up and running again for the computer and we had the net again and i had made sure our adsl was connected when the technician was over he said yes and i told him it better be cause i dont wanna call you guys again. So he was true to his word the net was connected and i had to connect the modem first and then the router.

So now i am back at mums place blogging and its been about 3 days we have a phone line and the net back. What annoys me is that I live in Australia and we are classified as a first world country and it takes 8 days for info structure to be installed shame i say shame :(

Now mum has gone out and we have TV issues so mum has gone to get an antenna and we will see if our digital box to work otherwise there is an issue with our digital SD box.

My next big move is around the 8th July to dads place as soon as i finish helping mum settle down in this cold fridge of a place.

Moving

Tomorrow we are finally moving to our new flat. So i may not be online tomorrow but hopefully by tomorrow afternoon we will get reconnected at our new place.

I will have to go to work tomorrow but i should be back by the afternoon. By that time we should have the lines connected and then i have to connect all the computers again. But i will not be connecting my computer because in about 2 weeks i will be making a big move to Queensland to live with my dad and my family up there.

I will try to be online if i can but i should be up and running normally in about a months time.

Soo ciao for now and illl see you all soon :)

88% Integrate Commercial Computer Packages Exam

I know I have been blogging a lot lately. But i really needed to blog this one.

Today i came and checked my email in the afternoon and i got a response from my Head computer teacher. A few weeks ago i had my last day in my computer class and we had the integrating computer packages exam which encompasses all the Microsoft programs:

Microsoft Access
Microsoft Excel
Microsoft PowerPoint
Microsoft Word

We used all these programs to create professional documents that are linked together. Studying for this exam was hard cause i am using Microsoft Office 2007 at home and at TAFE we are using 2003. So all in all i did read my notes but did not put much practice in.

So the following week I sent an email to my teacher so that he could have my email and also send me my result of my exam. I was soo nervous because this to my knowledge was the last module i had to complete and then I would get my Certificate II in I.T.

I read the email today and I was reading every line :) with eager anticipation and finally I got to my result and I got an:

88%

I was soo over the moon so now i have to call the head teacher or the person that hands out the Certificates and see if i have done all i need to do to get my paper. :)

Once i get this I am off to Qld and relaxing with my dad and the sunshine plus also looking at opening the Computer Shop i want to.

WOOT WOOT! :D

Movie Review: Love Wrecked

Well again a movie that i watched after the wrong man and Georgia Rule a movie that was heavy. So I decided to get a teen bopper movie that was happy go lucky movie that did not have any hard hitting issues to deal with.

This movie was about a young girl that was basically becoming a women and she has a best friend that is a guy. Although she has no interest in her best friend like that in the movie she says that kissing him would be like kissing her younger brother.

To be honest i loved this movie because of its lightheartedness and and the fact i can sit and watch and just have fun and laugh at only certain parts.

There was a scene in the movie when the best friend comes to pick up her and talk to her dad about their living arrangements when they go to the skincare and what the father does is the funnies thing i have seen in awhile :)

The father tries to do one of those cool handshakes guys do with a combinations of other things and after that the friend just gives a blank dumbfounded look. :) I laughed my head off.

This movie revolves around the girls fascination with a rock star she is in love with which makes her blind to the fact that her best friend likes well loves her. So you go on a journey that takes you to places that we all go when we deal with relationships but taken in a light way.

This movies is defenetly for the teenager age group and a chick flick. I would say the age group is for 12 to 16. But if your not in that age group as i am not if you want to watch something fun give this a whirl.

Movie Review: The Wrong Man

Well i watched this last week and i found it too be a great movie i told my cousin about this movie and he said that it is a good movie. I have to say it was a great movie and the movie had a great cast playing all the roles. Everyone played their part to perfection.

The movie starts off slow and your wondering what are they going on about but after awhile it starts to build up momentum.

The roles of the two bosses played by Sir Ben Kingsley and Morgan Freeman are the glue that really keeps this movie interesting and also what you focus on mainly in the movie. Josh Harnet that plays the main role is great playing the role cause it is soo believable. Bruce Willis plays as per normal. To be honest all the movies i have seen him play in all his roles seem the same.

As an audience you will really need to focus and listen intently to the story to keep up with it. It a total recommendation. Guys will love it for the action and Lucy liu ;) and the girls will like it for the actual thinking that the story line takes you on.

Well I am not going to say anymore just to say its a movie you have to put on the list of movies you have to see.

Work Resignation & Driving Lesson

This morning I had my supervisor come over to my place so I can sign the new set of forms for my continuation of my clients care. She came over around 11ish to my place and we sat and had a quick chat etc.. I also mentioned to her that we are moving and the fact of the matter is I am moving interstate to live with my dad and family up there. So hence i was giving my verbal resignation for looking after my client. She was sad to see that i am going but understood that we all need to move on and progress etc...

I explained to her some of the reasons why i am moving up to Queensland etc.. One of the major factors is the fact that i want to look into getting treatment for my CP and although they have the treatment down here i do not like the Dr that administers it because he explains it in such away it sounds like a sales pitch. Im not buying something im looking to improve my quality of life. Well shows you how much i respect that tool. :P

So after all that my supervisor and i agree its all good and she will let the family of my client know etc... So by the end of this month i will be not taking care of him anymore and even be a part of that organization. I have been a part of that place since 2001 and i feel like a part of the furniture there :) Although i feel this is the best time for me to move on seeing how the organization is going down hill. After that we signed the papers and then said our farewells and then i was in a rush to make sure i was ready for my driving lesson.

I thought i was going to be running late for my lesson because of the meeting i had in the morning with my supervisor but i was early. Driving went well but i think i am a bit over confident too soon and have caused myself to have a bit of a lead foot. My control of the car is much better and i feel like i said more confident. But i need to judge my stopping distance and positioning of my car more than anything . In Australia we drive on the left and every time i veered to the right my instructor was like "Are we in America?" lol so i made sure then i would go to the left. I had to deal with alot more traffic today but it was good i wanted to try it out.

This morning it was raining and by the time i was driving it dried up but still was overcast. Before i went to my class i had to get change my dad had given me some money for the lessons for driving last time i saw him and the only thing was he gave me in $100 bills and my instructor never has change etc.. and even does not have his receipt book with him at all times. I guess i will get a big receipt at the end plus all my paper work after i go cause i need to continue the lessons up there.

All in all i had a great lesson and then returned home and i was hungry by then and i got myself a feed at the local pizza cafe we have just across the road downstairs really nice fresh everything. After that i went and got Babel on DVD and then i will be reviewing that asap. I still need to write reviews on the last few movies i have seen. I just have not got a chance to. Will do very soon maybe as soon as tomorrow.

Anyways caio for now :)

First Day Back @Work

Today was my first day back at work after a six week break. My clients parents came back from their holidays and now i was back to the hard slog :) which is not that hard due to the fact that it is just an outing.

Today this morning I went and greeted him at 9am and then i said what does he want to do and he said he has his foot recovering from what he has and that comes and goes every now and then. So today we stayed local and just chilled we went and looked at DVD and Video stores and just looked at other shops. Then i said what do you want to do he said he wants lunch at 10:30am so we did i said what would you like and he wanted Subway so we went there he had a 6inch pizza sub without any salads and i had a 6inch Portuguese sub which was nice and spicy even better with pepper added plus the sauce :) yummy.

After that it was nearly 11am and he had enough and wanted to go back so we did that via going and looking at the post office. Then we went to the train station and i waited for his train and then he got on and went and i came home.

It was a good way to start back working with my client.

Dinner @DJ's Cronulla & Movie Review: Georgia Rule

On Friday night we did it again we went out for dinner and a movie and we wanted to go and see Shrek 3 cause i though it came out the day before. But no it's coming out this Thursday.

So anyhow we went to see the movies and see what is out cause we both were not sure what we wanted to see. My Wifey (Nickname given to my friend by my cousin) decided to pick up the flyer with all he session times on it and i went and got some cash from the atm machine. I looked on the electronic board to see what movies were showing and nothing really took my fancy in particular so i decided to leave it up to my wife :)

After all this we still had not made a decision so we decided to go and have dinner at DJ's. Which was a place tucked away in Cronulla Mall of course she knows Cronulla like the back of her hand as she says shes a true shireling or something to that effect. So being tucked away we went to this place that had this doorway and a stairway we had to climb :) Going up is not the problem i was thinking about coming back down afterwards. :) Finally we made it up the stairs and then i looked around it looked like a internal pub kinda thing. So as per usual Wifey already knew what she wanted which was chicken schnitzel with mashed potatoes. I was looking for the menu and then wife said its on the wall and i would have to walk around the place and look on the boards placed on the wall and i just turned my head and looked at the boards and i did not wanna look like a looser and walk around and analyse what i want, so i decided to just turn my head and look as far as i could and see what kinda food they have there, also i wanted something simple nothing to major i ended up getting a beef burger with chips. I went up to the counter and order our food and drinks and wifey wanted pink lemonade first time i have heard about it but just went with it.

I got our table number and left the drinks there and went over to our table and asked her to please go get the drinks other wise if i did their would not be much of the drinks left, btw i got an OJ.

So we just sat their and chated about nothing really just a small little chin wag :) Wifey also mentioned that her friends may show up one of her friends had just finished uni and well they all did for the semester so i think Friday night was the time to let their hair down and chill. So by the time all her friends were their we were already into our food and her friends were not happy that we started before they came and we did not wait for them. Wifey dealt with that and answered basically that she was hungry and was not going to wait so i just sat their did not say anything. So anyhoo we sat their and mixed and mingled well wifey did and i sat their spoke when i needed to and basically observed the groups interaction as a whole, maybe it the shrink inside me that does it. All in all a good time the discussion was good nothing to special to write about but was good enough to pass the time. I guess after a few drinks that they had thats what happens conversation is their but substance may be limited :) During that time wifey decided to talk to me but not using the her voice by signing to me and i had no clue what she was on about. It has been awhile since i have used mackaton. Well she was using Auslan which i have no idea about anyway soo i just told her to tell me later before the movies. Anyways by that time we all finished and headed downstairs. Yes the stairs going down the stairs is what i dont like but made it down unscafed. So we said our byes for now and headed to the movies and we had decided at dinner that we are going to watch Georgia Rule. on our walk down we bumped into some of her basketball buddies that she forgot the names of soo she did not introduce :) It was all good either way i did not mind. We finally made it to the movies and were half an hour early so we sat down and chatted some more but wifey needed to make a call so she made the call and i decided to make a call to my cousin at the same time. Wifey thought i was making a call overseas but my cousin was in Queensland Brisbane. I just talked to how the night was going on and we giggled like pre-schoolers but nothing negative was said about wifey i need to keep the peace at home ;) lol!!! Anyways her call ended and i said bye to my cuz and we started talking again about some stuff i promised to tell her about in person and not on msn.

First she told me about her thing and i was smiling well cause i felt like it was noting to get worried about due to the condition the other person was in hence she should not anylze it to that effect cause of that matte. (sorry not going into detail here due to confidentiality)

My matter i told her about was how i met with this girl i got to know over this free dating site i am involved in and what we have been discussing and listening to my story i was watching wifey's reaction which was funny cause she looked like a stunned mullet and after looking soo shocked she said thats nothing compared to her matter i did not say anything cause i know how it can be taken out of context if i say anything so we just left it there and by this time we were in the line to get into our cinema and then we just walked in and the cinema that we were in was like a small cinema that was ok it did get full pretty quickly and wifey decided to let me know how i am the only bloke in a chick flick i was not complaining i said good more for me :P Anyway after the previews the movie started and from here i start me review of the movie.

The movie Georgia rule where do i start with this movie. We start off with the mother and daughter in the car having a quarrel over something and then the daughter gets out of the car and decides to walk the rest of the distance to the town by herself. She came to a place that she decided to lay underneath the towns welcome sign and she was wearing a not too flattering dress. One pick up truck stopped and they young guy decided to see if she was still alive. he checks her pulse and she freaks and screams and wakes up etc... and then they get into a conversation and in that time of the conservation another car stops and its another person from the town the daughter decides to go with him mainly because of the convertible he was driving he turns out to be the towns Vet and also was treating the towns people too. Which was kinda weird.

At the same time the mum arrived at her mums place to let her know that her granddaughter is here making her own way etc...

Anyways the daughter makes it in to town and finds her granny's place and her grand daughter and her meet say hello and they go inside and she was hungry but the nana said no food till breaky till tomorrow morning Georgia Rule!. You get a lot of those lines in the movie that were in the movie but some were not as funny as others.

This movie was not what both of us expected had its funny bone moments but had a very serious underlying issue that they were talking about which was sexual abuse of the daughter. The story revolved around that being the main reason of the daughter's rebellion towards her mum and the mums rebellion to her mum through her drinking.

When the issue of the abuse was brought out in the movie i was like wow what a topic to talk about and i was feeling not soo comfortable i really just wanted a light hearted movie something to have nothing to think about but as i wanted to go i thought it would not be fair and sorta put on my semi youth work hat on and just thought i would sit through it and be a man as they say strap on some balls and watch a movie that i know a lot about being a youth worker i remember during my years of study a lot of the role plays or scenarios we did were based on abuse and sexual abuse.

I can tell you right now i feel very passionate about this topic and in my book anyone who does this either to anyone regardless if the abuser is male or female mostly male in most situations. I personally would have the person neutered and then thrown in jail and throw away the key.

This movie although is a chick flick i do recommend this movie for all blokes to step up and watch this movie either by themselves or with their better half. This is definetly a movie that is for an adult audience due to the subject matter. A must watch and i would even go as far to say a Must have DVD when it comes out.

It is a movie that can arise many emotions for different people. I was like very tense in the movie not because i couldn't handle it i could i have seen much worse that that movie but what was making me tense was the fact how the mum in the movie did not believe her daughter when she said i was abused by my step father. As a youth worker i have seen a lot of young people that do fabricate a lot but when it comes to matters of abuse you always have to believe it and not matter if its true or not it has to be reported and dealt with. Which it was in this movie.

There was a scene in this movie i would say i loved to bits. It was the scene with the baseball bat and well the scene started with the step father arriving at the grandmothers house to see his wife because she is not returning her calls due to the abuse factor and shes not sure who to believe.

So the grandmother comes out and tells the guy to go and leave the place etc... he did not and he said he has a right to see his wife etc... Then the grandmother goes inside and the guy is irate and loudly stating he has a right to see his wife and then the grandmother comes out with the baseball bat and clobbers him good just beats him hard but does not kill him if it was me hitting that bloke let me just say he would have not got back up after i was through with him.

Anyhoo this movie would be a real tear jerker for most people and the ending was fitting in this movie i am not saying what happen but it was i would say a very emotional scene in the movie and my wife had the snifles. She was not ready for a heavy movie. After the movie i asked her if she was ok and she basically said what i wrote before about not being ready about the heavy movie. She still enjoyed it although.

After that i asked her if she wanted to do something else and she had footy the next day soo she wanted to go home and get some beauty sleep. I don't know why she needs a beauty sleep cause she already is ;) (Im going to get many questions after this comment LOL!!!)

Anyways we got back in the care discussed the movie a little further and then by that time we got to my place and dropped me off said thanks and then went our separate ways. I am going to send her a E-Card just because of the emotion she had after the movie but did not really say anything about it. She was quieter than usual i think we were both processing the movie and the intensity.

All in all a very great night and the best movie i have seen in a very long time.

Movie Rating 10/10 Well done the whole cast to this great movie.
Night Out Rating 10/10 It had all the great elements humor socialising and every other emotion except anger :)

Well the next movie i wanna see before i move interstate is shrek it will be in two weeks or soo again im going to let wifey know and we will probably head to see that too.

Movie Review: A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints

The day before yesterday i was at home bored out of my mind. So i decided to go and get a DVD. I had heard good wraps of this movie and i like Robert Downey Jnr as an actor. He played his role well not the best. It also had that guy from anaylize this the other mafia boss that was against Robert DiNiro. That guy played his role to a Tee. Dianee Weist was ok but i felt that some of the people that were in the movie were not playing to their full potential.

The story revolved around Downy Jnr character receiving a phone call from his mum asking to come back and visit his sick dad and so we join him on the journey back to the place her grew up and through the journey he was remembering different points in his life. It was going in out of present time to flashbacks. all that kinda thing. I felt it was hard too follow and it made me sleepy.

It is a confronting movie that deals with abuse of many types but the two types that were focused on were Emotional and physical abuse through the eye of robert downy jnr character.

This sorta felt like the movie Sleepers but not as in your face well that what i felt but it could be different for others.

This had that feeling of an independent film which it was and also it was a first time director that made this film based on his life.

Movie Review: Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End

Well last Tuesday was what we call in Australia Tight ass Tuesday :) Means it was cheap ticket day at the movies so mum and i went off to the movies and saw the third installment of the pirates franchise.

This movie again had all the right elements. If you are a true fan you will enjoy this immensely. I was ready for a roller coaster ride when i sat in my chair. I was ready for my imagination to be blown away. So it started off from where it ended Jack being eaten by Davey jones etc... So the crew decided to go and get him etc... thats where the story starts you will be taken in every which way direction in this movie and i was enjoying every minute until the half way point. It felt like it hit a rock and could not get going again and it too awhile for the winds to blow the sails along and get going again. But after i would say 30mins of no mans land we started off again and it was a thrill a minute.

This movie had all the elements but i would say not enough of the humor that were used to. It did touch on some of the emotional issues between the characters which was good and also kept the story going for it not to get all mushy.

My mum's only criticism was that she wanted more of the music that she liked in the first 2 movies she felt that in the fight scenes their could have been more music.

The movie is very lengthy goes for about 3 hours and is a blast but you can get tired sitting there. I am not going to give away the ending but all im going to say is you should sit till after the credits and watch the hidden scene thats all im saying.

All in all good wholesome family fun :)

It lost marks cause i felt it was too long. Some parts felt like i was siting in a bollywood flick :)
