Movie Review: DreamGirls

Yesterday i was sitting home alone and bored out of my mind. So i had enough there was nothing on TV and i have already seen all my DVD's that i have got. So i got ready and went downstairs to the corner shop where i can get my DVD's too. So i just wanted to get some movies which i got two one DreamGirls and the second one was Deja Vu. (Will review deja vu after this) So anyway mum got home by then so as per usual we sat and watched dream girls.

This was a great musical excellent original songs and all. The best cast ive seen together since Grease.

The story as we know was loosley based on The Supremes. I have to say Jenifer Hudson played her role to perfection she has a immaculate voice and Simon from American Idol has no idea of what he was talking about.

The story was long and while watching it. It reminded me of watching a Bollywood film the only difference was this was in a language i could understand fully.

Beyonce, jamie Fox Eddie and the rest of the cast played well and it was good to see Eddie go back to singing i remember in the 80's he sang a song with Michael Jackson "Watsupwitu" Thats wat it was called. Good song but he did not have a voice then but i have to say bravo to the Nutty Professor and his vocal talents.

The movie was real good and i loved the ending and i really loved the song it did hit the nail on the head when it came to the American Race issue that was going on during that time and is probably still going on to some level there still.

It is a must see if you like Motown and love that era of music. They had things like the ed sulivan show but had the groups that preformed on those types of shows except they had to change the names of the songs and the groups performing they had a group that looked like the Jackson 5 but was renamed something else because of copyright issues.

If the did not do that the movie would have cost heaps more.

Its a movie worth seeing with anyone date movie or family get together etc..

This is mainly because of Jennifer Hudson's performance well done girl. Simon can eat his words now :)

Dinner & Movie Review: Because I Said So

Last Friday I finally caught up with one of my friends before i make the big move to queensland. We made plans to meet up and catch up on the goos which i don't think we discussed to its full potentiality :) But it was a nice night. We went down to a restruant cafe thing called Nulla Nulla and we sat down to eat and it was funny i thought my friend was going to take 10minutes to choose something to eat but she already knew what she wanted :) which was a good thing being decisive. :) She picked to have a chicken schnitzel and chips and a milkshake. It was the quickest i have ever seen her make a decision :P lol (Just Kidding)

So after about 10 minutes of me being indecisive i finally made a choice to get some sort of pasta dish. I told the waitress what i wanted she repeated something else and i could not be bothered correcting her it was just another pasta dish she had said and i said ok and my friend looked at me and started laughing i said im not fussy as long as its food and its a big portion.

Anyway the time for waiting for food was really short and we got our food and it was not a big portion it was huge so i decided to pace myself and just ate and had a nice chat. I was eating so slow that i noticed my friend checking her watch to make sure we wont be late :) i knew that and just kept cruising both of us could not finish our meals and we decided to walk for a bit and go towards the flicks. We went into the theatre complex and we were walking up the stairs and my friend was concerned about me walking up the stairs and the funny thing was when we were walking up the stairs she decided to fall over going up the stairs LOL!!! I laughed and wanted to say that she was the first girl that has fallen for me ;) but i left it alone cause i felt she was embarrassed enough and we laughed and finished the stairs and got up and then we just waited for the movies to clear and go in and while we waited My friend decided that she was going to the arcade machines and she decided to sit in the cars i think it was something like Mario Kart. She was not playing but just sitting there and simulating the actions of the game. The funny thing was that the screen changed and it showed her face and she was stunned and got up quick as a flash and said well thats over :P lol

Then we went and saw the posters of the new flicks coming up and we saw a poster with pictures of sperm on it and then from that we started a conversation on orgasms etc... Which was funny and we finished that quickly and on this occasion finishing quickly was a good thing :P lol

Anyhow by this time it was time to go in and we went in and climbed another bunch of stairs and then sat down and then well we waited for the pre-show ads to finish this was where i decided to show her pics of the twin bros and my other bro :) anyway by that time the movie started.

So i sat down and was ready for this film and knew i was going to review it on aD. So i sat and started watching this movie and the first scene was out of left field but nothing over the top was basically all the actresses at a massage place and in their underwear im like ok and then they started to have the conversation it started of safe and then it went to sex and orgasms and both my friend and I started to laugh well maily me cause i tend to connect everything :P lol

The movie was a barrel of laughs it was a fun light 100 min movie that made you forget about your life and you just had a good time. The movie basically revolved around the mum and the three daughters and the relationship between the mum and the youngest daughter Mandy Moore and how Mandy could not get into a long term relationship and get married at the end etc... but basically all the crazy stuff start to happen but it was funny as hell... :)

I would recommend this film for everyone to go and see we both had a good time and laughed like anything. Its a good date film guys and you never know you may like it too it does have sex in it and those scenses are funny too :)

All in all a movie for all a real good time. My rating for this film would be

9/10

The outing basically after that we went and caught up with one of her friends that called her in the film :) anyhow we met up and then they decided to go running after so they basically dropped me off back home cause im not much of a runner. I got home and just chilled. I had a good night though.

95% Access Database Exam

Two weeks ago we had our database exam for our I.T course and as you xan see from the heading of the blog i achieved 95% as my result. It was great during the exam I had a great feeling covering all the different sections of the exam i knew at least i would get all or 80% of the marks given for those different sections.

The whole exam was out of 80 marks and I got 76/80 which as a percentage was worked out to be 95% and i was soo happy and over the moon sitting on cloud 9. Then i was just asking the others what they got to see if i managed to top the class or not. I found out one of my class mates got 78/80 which became 97.5% i was like wow this guy must have had no life to be able to achieve this mark.

The reason I say this is cause when i was studying for the exam I covered the sections i wanted to double check and then madde sure my results were correct and then i was prepared for the exam. I studdied for a mere 90 minutes and achieved my mark i wonder how much the other guy did to achieve 2 percent more. After all that i still said to myself who cares and was happy as Larry.

I have one exam left and one subject left basically and thats called integrate commercial computer packages and then im done and im out of my course and i get my Certificate I can not wait cause then i move up to Queensland and live with dad and initiate on all my qualifications.

I will keep you guys posted on what happens with the final subject and its exam.

Mum Graduated :D

Last Friday Mum Graduated. Finally after four years of part time urban and regional planning, mum achieved her Master Degree. I was soo happy for mum achieving this. She deserves this so much.

We went early and we had to pick up my grand parents and then we headed to the uni and found a parking spot. That was really good cause we just looked for a disabled spot both My grandpa and I have a disability soo we both had our cripple stickers on the car. :)

So we got out and my sister and my grandparents hanged around and mum and I went off to get her hat and cape thingy :P

So we got it and everything and later on we found that it was the wrong one cause of the colors but i told mum not to worry as long as you get the paper that says masters it should be ok don't worry. ( in saying that i don't mean to be that the paper is everything. I just mean that as long as they give you the right thing what does a few colors mean)

So we came back and just waited around and took photos that you can find in my picture section. I still have a heap more to post. So after we waited around and tried to keep myself calm and had to keep my eye on my grandpa and his attitude he has had two strokes and a few marbles are left soo we have to be cautious of his decision making. (Thats another story for another day)

Soo after waiting along time and keeping my grandpa occupied while we wait the doors opened and my grandpa was the first one in the hall and thats saying something cause he walks as slow as a turtle. :)

We got in and sat down in the first row. They told us that we can only have three seats through the letter but we all sat down and we were four.

Soo it all started with pomp and all the old English type ceremony and everything. The official party walked in and we had to be standing and the person in the front was holding this long golden iron pole thing (i cant remember the name for it) and they were all wearing their gowns and funny hats :)

The thing that got to me was how it was so male dominated only two women in the group.

Soo basically they had a person do an intro speech and then the certificates degrees were given out etc.. Then they had a academic get up there and do a talk about the field that the graduates have just go in and the importance in it etc.. I understood everything but it was such a boring speech. Truly academics do not know how to present to an audience.

Anyway after that the whole graduation finished and mum gave her gown back etc.. and then we headed off to an Morracan Restruant and had nice food but with no taste due to our grandparents cause no chilli soo the cook did not put chilli in no ones food so it tasted preety bland. Still was nice though we took pics there too so u can have a look as soon as i put them up.

So all in all a great night And I must Say Congrats to my MUM on her great achievement. :)

Movie Review: Human Trafficking

Last week i went to the video store and rented this movie human trafficking. I was recommended this movie by my cousin and also because of my youth work background i had an interest in this movie and how they planned to tell this story.

I sat down and was ready for this emotional journey and a roller coaster ride. I was surprised that i sat their bored in the first half of the movie and was wishing the movie could pick up its pace. It took its time. Anyway it got moving eventually and i was ready for the movie to get really emotional for me but i just felt that the movie had something missing in each scene to take it too that emotional part for me as the audience. Do not get me wrong it was upsetting but i was expecting to be watching a tear jerking movie. It came close but no.

It was a confronting issue that maybe in the hands of another director it could have gone that extra step. In saying all that i have to say their was one scene in the movie that did get a reaction from me and that reaction was shock and it was actually a quite sad scene.

This movie does address the issue of trafficking and the ease of how people do this kinda thing. It had the guy from The Full Monty and he also Played Hitler. I have to say he played his part to a T. Every time i always get a uneasy feeling about a character in a movie that means im not seeing the actor but the role that they are protraying and i have to say he was a 10/10.

It is a sad reality that we live in that this still goes on in the world that we live in. The part that really annoys me is how these men can get away the cruelty that they do these women and the amount of fabrication and fraud that is involved in the whole thing.

I am a older brother of two sisters and three younger brothers and i can tell you if anything like this would happen to them i would hunt these **** (place your own curse in here) down and make sure it would be impossible for them to harm another innocent soul.

Please put this on your list of movies to watch. It maybe old but its a must see.

The reason that it did not get 10 is the fact that it did not take me to that emotional place for me but this is not saying it will not take you there.
