Driving Assesnment

(22 Mar 2007 21:48)

Last Wednesday I had my first driving assessment, it was fun. It all went for 2 and a half hours. The first part was all theory and all the eye tests again and then i had to answer questions of pictures of road situations that can occur and then i had to say what signs meant and then i had to do a theory exam.

I passed all those and then i had a half an hour break had some lunch then i had to do the driving practical assessment.

The driving test went with not a problem. The instructor drove the car with the lady that assessed me theoretically and i to a quiet street and then we swapped over and he showed me how they swap the foot pads to the left so i can use my left leg it was an awesome invention.

So i got in and so did he. I adjusted the chair mirrors and everything else that needed adjustment :)

So I turned the car on and first thing that the driving instructor did was turn on the air condition cause it was darn hot.

then he told me to pull out and i checked my windows and everything including my blind spot. I slowly started to accelerate up the road and then he told me to do a sharp break and i slowed safely down and i was like u want me to what???

He said ya go ahead and i checked with the lady in the back and she said its ok they do it all the time. So i did with slow speed of course. So i did and then the car beaked and jerked forward and back. Then he said he just wanted to show me how it feels.

So after that he got me to drive slowly up the road aproach intersections and round abouts and everything went well. I came to a curdasack and that was a bit tricky but dealt with it, made the turn. Basically all they wanted to show me was how to judge breaking distance and how long it takes me to stop or crawl to stop.

The one hour lesson was lots of fun.

After we finished the lesson both instructors asked me if i would like to drive the car back to the hospital and both were happy for me to do so. So I did. We got to the hospital and i parked it first and then i was not happy with how i parked so i reversed and then did it again this time it was perfect.

In a few weeeks i have more lessons coming up. I have to call my dad and let him know cause i need him to fund the lessons :)

Ill keep you all posted with my progress.

Monday's I.T TAFE Class

(13 Mar 2007 21:27)

Last Monday I had an exam in my computer class. It was intresting i was totally ok with it before hand. I knew all the Excel formulas and everything before the test and now during the test i was given the test and the test was not hard or anything i just felt nervous for some reason. I was reading the questions and i was racking my brain for the answers but i knew the answers it was already stored in my memory banks it was just finding them and bringing them to the front part of my brain.

After about 10 minutes it all started to flow and it all came to me. I just hope that i get or have been given a good mark. I will be happy with anything above 60%

The frustrating that was before the test i had to sit on a computer that worked. I sat on the first one and it would not boot into windows it wanted a boot disk. So i told the teacher and moved to another computer and this one decided to have issues too.

This one decided to voot but just cycle the boot screen back and forth again i told the teacher and this time thirf time lucky i found a pc that worked this was about 25minutes after everyone has already started and i had 90 minutes to do the exam. Which I technically started at 8pm and finished just before 9:30pm. Answered all the questions. I just hope i answered most of them correctly.

Right now i am sitting in the liabary and waiting for the time to go to my class. Class starts at 6pm and goes till 9pm and time now is 5:25pm

So i will wait another 15mins and then go back to the room.

I don't know when i will get the results i just wanna pass.

I just have to pass word, excel (the one i dislike the most) and database.

ok end of my lil rant at the moment :)

Funny TAFE I.T Class

(10 Mar 2007 13:13)

Last Wednesday I went to computer class early as usual. I got to the door of the room and the teacher was standing there. He said "I need to talk to you" I was like thinking to myself what does he want and what have i done...

I was like "Is this a good thing or a bad thing. He was like it depends... I was like racking my brain on what is he going on about.

I said what is it exactly?? He said I need you to do a test for me?? I was like but i have not prepared or anything. He was like dont worry you will breeze through it. I was like can i have a look at the test before i accept it. He said sure...

I looked at this test and it was the funniest thing i have ever seen.

The first question was like "How do you turn on the computer??? and the most hardest question i found on the exam was how do you create a html file and then rename it.

I did it the old fashioned way through DOS.

My Opinion & Suggestion About Vista

(05 Mar 2007 10:52)

For the past two months I have been reading about vista and some of the issues that aD members are having with the new Operating System. e.g. security issues mainly and also program incompatibility.

I would suggest to members of aD and users of Vista before you go out and acquire the program. First do your research about the new Operating system and see what programs have made the upgrade to vista versions, so that it can be run on the New Vista Operating System.

At this moment XP is the most stable operating system still. I personally would not change my operating system until I can see that the vast majority of my applications can run on the new Operating System.

I hope that this blog helps members think about what they decide to do. I would give it two years before i would make the conversion to Vista by that time drivers and programs would have sufficient time to make the required upgrades and also within that time the bugs can be filtered out and the Operating System can be stable like XP.

Finished My Lesson Plan

(03 Mar 2007 23:13)

I finally finished my lesson plan for the mock lesson i am doing tomorrow in class. I have done them before as a youth worker i guess i have the upper hand in the department cause i have that background.

It took me awhile to get a concept that i can work with but after i got that going it flowed. So I am ready for my close up Mrs Devil :)

My lesson consists of reading a cloze exercise a skimming or scanning exercise and that should take up the 20 minutes plus question time and discussing vocabulary.

I hope I do well. I hope my grammar exercises passes the teachers expectation.

Wish me good luck :)
