Why do companies fight so much?

11 Jul 2010 12:33

I believe that companies can coexist in peace, but many do not. In fact, it's been said that over 50% of U.S. companies have some kind of conflict, whether it be legal, monetary, or trading. The latest craze seems to sue the crap out of whatever company uses a said patent that supposedly the other company has. Now, I don't know about you, but this crap is asinine. If you ask me, many of the tech companies need to grow up, and quit acting like a bunch of whining toddlers. We have too much in this world to worry about as it is. If a company has a legit, legal way to get monetary damages and not abuse the patent system, then I'm all for it, but if it's just for some screen that some other company has on their phone that looks like theirs, and they try to find a legal "loophole" to have monetary gains, I don't think that it should be allowed, period. If hampers on innovation and progress. If we sue every company for every little thing on a product, we would never see progress being made. It's time to stop this nonsense, and see reality that you can share patents. It's not that hard at all. Very easy and convenient. Perhaps while I'm still in existence, we'll see this nonsense stop, but of course, I'm expecting way too much.
