  It can be nice, but everything is much smaller over here. In some cases that's an advantage, it takes about three hours to drive from Dublin (east coast) to Galway (west coast) but if you stay here for your holidays after a few years you've been pretty much everywhere! Stuff is quite expensive too - petrol is 1.40 euro a litre which is about two dollars and eating out and hotels can be very dear. But the people can be good fun. Maybe you'll visit Ireland sometime. Where you live looks lovely, I live in Dublin but quite near the coast so it's not too bad.

  So I'm at work Friday night, and I get contaminated. I followed procedure at every detail and filled out a report with the reactor operators (no one else was here). All weekend I'm thinking, oh shit. I'm worrying about how it might have been my fault, about how I might have spread it around the reactor before I checked myself and notified the control room that I needed to be cleaned up, that my boss (who is pregnent) might pick up enough to have a miscarriage.
  
  Today I find out that the cause of the contamination was an isotope I'd never been near, not the one I had been working with, and that I helped prevent worse contamination by following procedure. Quite a load off my shoulders....losing my job wasn't exactly impossible otherwise. There are a lot of details I'm really not allowed to share, but let's leave it at damn, it could have been worse. There are still some problems.
