DVDFAB Decrypter + VobBlanker + DVD Shrink + ImgBurn guide

01 Oct 2006 19:53 (Edited: 01 Oct 2006 19:53)

Here's another new (an all FREE tools) for newbies, it's really simple.

New revised "DVDFAB Decrypter + VobBlanker + DVD Shrink + ImgBurn" guide

NOTE: this FREE guide is designed for those that does not have DVDIdle Pro, DVD Region + CSS Free and AnyDVD only.
NOTE: If using the latest from DVDFAB Decrypter, I highly recommend you to "disable or shut down" AnyDVD, DVD43 or other engines, it's for the best.

This guide is specifically made for newbies, those that needed helps and or interested in using DVDFAB Decrypter, the basic steps of "processing the VIDEO_TS.IFO" through VobBlanker, DVD Shrink (very basic) and ImgBurn.

Now-a-days, it gets more and more complicated to rip and backup new released movies/dvds due to the heavy protections that was encrypted by either Macrovision's RipGuard or Sony's ARccOS aka Puppet Lock. So, I highly recommend using either VobBlanker or FixVTS to clean, process and blank out any suspicious cells. Yes, it is true that you (we) don't necessary needed VobBlanker to post process the "VIDEO_TS.IFO" file once it's done ripped by DVDFAB Decrypter or other rippers. However, keep in mind that now-a-days, SONY and Macrovision has been putting some nasty, corrupted or invalid cells, vts onto the movie/dvd, therefore, sometimes DVD Shrink and Nero Recode is having issues transcoding the movie.

<><><><>TOOLS NEEDED<><><><>

(1) DVDFAB Decrypter - here [ link ]
(2) VobBlanker - here [ link ]
(3) DVD Shrink - here [ link ]
(4) ImgBurn - here [ link ]

<><><><> STEP 1 <><><><>

* Rip your movie with the latest from DVDFAB Decrypter
* Now insert your new movie, FAST and FURIOUS: TOKYO DRIFT (or any new released) into your DVD burner/drive

<><><><><> STEP 2 <><><><><>

* Process, Clean or Blank out unwanted junks or simply clean the "VIDEO_TS.IFO" file through VobBlanker
* Why it needs to? Well, you should know the answer already by now. Even the famous AnyDVD (one of the greatest retail ripper) is using FixVTS and the great RipIt4Me is using FixVTS to clean out junks afterward. I'm NOT going to force you to use it (VobBlanker or FixVTS) if you don't want to, the choice is yours. I can wait an extra 5 minutes to process my movies (VIDEO_TS.IFO) file through VobBlanker and rather have the perfect backup in the end. Furthermore, I want to "blank out" some unwanted junks (i.e. FBI Warnings, trailers, etc.)

NOTE: for this movie FAST & FURIOUS TOKYO DRIFT, I have VobBlanker blank out the FBI Warnings, few Previews and few unwanted tiny cells. However, I did not show the steps in this guide because I want to make it easier and shorter.
*** To blank out any unwanted junks, scenes or cells ***
* click on any VTS under "TitleSet", double click or click on any ENTRY number under "PGC #", then click on PREV/CUT and PLAY it, if you don't like what you see, then simply BLANK it out.

I'm guessing there are some corrupted or invalid cells inside these VTS or PGC, but once VobBlanker process and clean it out, it should be fine.

<><><><><> STEP 3 <><><><><>

* Transcode the movie with DVD Shrink 3.2.0.15
NOTE: this is just a basic DVD Shrink guide for newbies only.

<><><><><> STEP 4 <><><><><>

* Burning the ISO with ImgBurn (from Lightning UK, the author behind DVD Decrypter)

Now insert a high quality blank into your DVD burner. I recommend Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim or Maxell (Made In Japan by Hitachi Corp.)

Now you've successfully made a perfect backup of The FAST & The FURIOUS TOKYO DRIFT (or any of your desire movies). See... it wasn't so hard afterall. Again, like I said; "it's easy as sippin' on a Corona." It's how you use these free tools, so there's no such thing as "I can't backup this, I can't backup that, etc."

Enjoy the guide, good luck to all and happy burning. I'm outta here, so no more guides from me.
