Just 'cause I should...

Just a quick update since I haven't posted one since October.

Ok, now... I finally found a drummer but we haven't been able to get our schedules together to even begin to try to get some new music done. Phill and I are ready to go but the bassist is "unavailable" and the drummer can't seem to find the time.
Pure Rock and Roll!!!

Work is a challenge, always something else to learn. I've been heavily involved in "Virtualization" technology utilizing a product called VMWare Virtual Infrastructure 3 since November. I used an earlier release at my previous job, but it wasn't "my" area to really get to delve into it as deeply as I wanted to. The concept is simple: You run ONE PHYSICAL server which runs the VMWare ESX operating system (a heavily modified version of Red Hat Enterprise Linux) which in turn allows you to run independant VIRTUAL servers on top of that layer so on the same box I can have SEVERAL MS Windoze, Linux, UNIX servers running SIMULTANEOUSLY
It's a thing of beauty.

  I should never try to understand anything computer related while under the influence of a fever and sinus infection. Actually, the scary part is I think I get the concept, if not the details. I am a hopeless geek. yay. Who wants to be normal anyway?
